This Senior Project Engineer role will be predominantly working for the Water division of CEL where a multi-disciplinary team (including Process, Civil/Structural, Geotechnical, Mechanical, Electrical ICA and Hydraulics) deliver engineering designs for a number of Water Authorities across England through its AMP8 programme with a pipeline of work planned across the upcoming AMP9 investment plan.
The team focus on delivering best value, affordable solutions whilst eliminating harm by producing schemes that are safe to build, operate and maintain.
As a Senior Project Engineer you will be responsible for a key element of work on a project taking a significant role in technical delivery as well as managing aspects of time, cost and quality and will acquire technical, leadership and project management skills and experience.
Working alongside experienced engineers, project managers and technical specialists, you will gain exposure to the full project lifecycle from feasibility and optioneering through design, assurance and construction support, while developing the commercial, technical and leadership skills required to progress into a Project Engineering Manager role, by delivering best value outcomes to our clients.
We are looking for a Senior Project Engineer who is enthusiastic about combining technical engineering with project delivery and client management.
This role provides the opportunity to build a career on real infrastructure projects with long-term societal and environmental value, while developing both technical engineering expertise and the project management capability required to lead increasingly complex projects.
This hybrid role is nominally based at either our Costain Manchester or London Office with an expectation of office-based working for a minimum of two days per week – our dynamic working policy does allow all employees to discuss and agree flexibility to where, when and how they work based on individual circumstances and subject to role, client, business and team requirements. Short-term/notice travel to company, supplier or client offices or sites for business purposes may be required.
