Senior Project Manager

Are you an experienced Project Manager looking for a hands-on role where you can play an important part in delivering technology transformation?

We’re looking for a Senior Project Manager to join our Strategic Digital Solutions team at an exciting point in its development. Following the successful transition of services into the business, our focus is shifting towards transformation and continuous improvement, ensuring our services continue to evolve and meet changing business and customer needs.

This is a hands-on senior Project Manager role where you’ll take accountability for technology projects from initiation and planning through to successful delivery and closure. You’ll work across a broad technology landscape, which could include infrastructure, applications and security-related projects.

There will be no line management responsibility initially, although there is potential for the role to take on people management responsibilities as it develops.

This is a hybrid role with ad hoc travel to an office when required, which is likely to include London or Manchester depending on business and project requirements.

What you'll be doing:

• Taking accountability for the successful end-to-end delivery of technology projects, from initiation and planning through to delivery and closure.
• Guiding and supporting Project Managers, ensuring effective project controls are established and maintained across projects within your area of responsibility.
• Leading and coordinating technical project teams, setting clear goals and priorities and managing delivery plans, dependencies and milestones.
• Building positive relationships with customers, subcontractors, third parties and key stakeholders, including at senior leadership level.
• Ensuring project progress, plans, risks and status are reported clearly and accurately, identifying and resolving issues and conflicts as they arise.
• Driving projects towards agreed objectives and successful outcomes while supporting the wider transformation and continuous improvement of services.

What you’ll bring:

• Demonstrable professional Project Management experience, with the ability to take accountability for successful project delivery.
• Strong Project Management knowledge, skills and practical delivery expertise.
• Experience of managing technology projects end-to-end, from initiation and planning through to delivery and closure.
• Experience coordinating technical teams and stakeholders and managing delivery plans, dependencies and milestones.
• A broad understanding of technology projects, which could include infrastructure, applications and security.
• An adaptable and proactive approach, with flexibility to travel on an ad hoc basis as the role develops.

Salary: £65,000 – £80,000
