Help deliver one of the UK's most significant infrastructure programmes
At Anglian Water, we're creating a legacy that will benefit millions of people for generations to come.
We are investing in the development of two new reservoirs, the Fens Reservoir and Lincolnshire Reservoir, representing one of the largest water infrastructure programmes ever undertaken in the UK. Together, these nationally significant projects will help secure future water supplies, support environmental resilience and enable sustainable growth across our region.
The Reservoirs Programme is a multi-billion-pound investment and the most complex programme of work ever delivered by Anglian Water. As we progress through planning, consenting, procurement and delivery, we are looking for experienced Senior Project Manager to play a pivotal leadership role in shaping the future of this once-in-a-generation programme.
What you'll be doing
Reporting to a Senior Programme Manager, you will lead major workstreams across either the Fens or Lincolnshire Reservoir project, taking ownership of critical programme outcomes and ensuring delivery against key milestones, budgets, schedules and quality standards.
This is a highly strategic leadership role where you'll:
- Lead and develop a team of Project Managers delivering complex infrastructure packages.
- Drive delivery across major programme areas including design and consents, site investigations, procurement, reference design development and infrastructure provider transactions.
- Ensure successful progression through RAPID gated milestones and Development Consent Order requirements.
- Work closely with programme controls, commercial, technical and stakeholder teams to manage performance, risk and governance.
- Build strong relationships with regulators, partners, local authorities and key programme stakeholders.
- Provide leadership, coaching and direction across multi-disciplinary teams and supply chain partners.
- Influence programme strategy and continuously improve delivery performance across the wider Reservoirs Programme.
Why this role is different
Opportunities to lead projects of this scale and national importance are rare.
You'll join a programme that will:
- Secure future water supplies for millions of customers.
- Deliver nationally significant infrastructure assets.
- Shape the future of water resource management in England.
- Involve engagement with Government, regulators and industry-leading delivery partners.
- Provide exposure across the full project lifecycle, from concept development and planning through to procurement and delivery.
This is an opportunity to leave a lasting legacy whilst developing your career on one of the UK's most ambitious infrastructure programmes.
What we're looking for
You will bring significant experience leading large and complex infrastructure projects through multiple stages of the project lifecycle.
We're particularly interested in candidates who have:
- Major project or large infrastructure programme experience.
- Experience managing and developing project management teams.
- Strong stakeholder management and leadership skills.
- Experience delivering projects through development, design, construction or commissioning phases.
- Knowledge of NEC contracts and commercial delivery environments.
- Experience operating within complex governance frameworks.
- Strong communication, decision-making and leadership capabilities.
- Full UK driving licence – travel between sites required.
Experience within the water sector, DCO projects, RAPID programmes or other nationally significant infrastructure projects would be advantageous.
As a valued employee, you’ll be entitled to:
- Personal private health care
- Life assurance (up to 8 x salary)
- Personal accident cover (up to 5 x salary)
- Double-matched pension (maximum 7% employee/14% employer contribution)
- 26 days annual leave – rising with length of service and the ability to buy more
- Excellent family friendly policies, such as 26 weeks full pay for maternity / adoption leave, as well as 4 weeks paid paternity / partner leave. Opportunity for shared parental pay
- Bonus scheme – up to 15%
- Flexible benefits to support your wellbeing and lifestyle.
