Senior PV & BESS Project Manager

AVA Energy has partnered with an international energy group specialising in photovoltaic (PV) power plants, battery energy storage systems (BESS) and energy optimisation to appoint a Senior PV & BESS Project Manager to support a utility-scale renewable energy project in Hamburg.

Location: Hamburg, Germany (hybrid/remote working)

Salary: Competitive salary

Employment type: Contract/Freelance - 12 months

Key Responsibilities

• Manage PV and BESS projects throughout the EPC construction and delivery phases.
• Coordinate EPC contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and site teams.
• Monitor project schedules, budgets, costs and progress against milestones.
• Oversee site operations, ensuring compliance with health, safety and quality standards.
• Manage client communications, resolve technical and operational issues, and report on project performance.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience managing PV projects, ideally including BESS.
• Proven experience supporting or managing EPC construction activities and site operations.
• Strong understanding of project planning, budget control, contractor management and H&S requirements.
• Fluent in both Italian and English.
