All about the role
As a Senior Software Engineer in Test, you will take part in end-to-end test automation activities for major initiatives across multiple regions, including CRM, Contact Center, AI and Service Operations rollouts. You will support test automation solutions from development through technical go-live. The role involves interacting with senior leaders and stakeholders, ensuring alignment across teams and driving timely, high-quality test automation.

About the CDI Experience Organization
The Consumer Direct Interaction Experience Organization is a Digital Product Organization responsible for delivering technology solutions to end users and consumers across both pre-purchase and post-purchase journeys. We are organized across 15+ digital product areas, providing solutions ranging from Contact Center, E-commerce, Marketing and Identity to AI. You will play a key role in ensuring the right sizing, right skillset and core competency across these product areas.
What you'll do
· Framework Development: Contribute to, maintain and enhance the test automation framework by adding new capabilities and improving maintainability. Ensure the framework supports scalability, modularity and cross-platform compatibility. Be ready to enter unfamiliar areas and quickly implement suitable solutions.
· Test Script Development: Design, develop and maintain robust, reusable test automation scripts. Work across UI, API, database and potentially mobile or desktop application layers. Implement and maintain utilities and test libraries. Support developers with unit tests when required.
· Test Strategy & Planning: Collaborate with QA leads and developers to define what to automate, when and how. Ensure test automation is integrated into the CI/CD pipeline and supports continuous testing.
· Test Execution & Maintenance: Run automated tests regularly and analyze results. Identify and troubleshoot failures, escalating issues when necessary. Maintain and update test cases and CI/CD pipelines as applications evolve.
· Troubleshooting & Debugging: Investigate test failures and determine root causes, whether a test issue, application defect or environment problem. Provide effective fixes or workarounds.
· Collaboration & Mentorship: Collaborate with developers, QA engineers, DevOps and product owners to align testing objectives. Mentor junior team members on automation best practices and tool usage.
· Code Quality & Version Control: Write clean, maintainable and efficient automation code. Review code from junior engineers and provide constructive feedback. Ensure adherence to coding standards and version-control practices.
· Test Data & Environment Handling: Set up or manage basic test data for automated runs. Execute tests across environments and report inconsistencies.
· Documentation: Document automated tests and provide clear test-case descriptions. Keep test coverage and automation status updated in tools such as Jira, TestRail or similar platforms.
· Experience & Expertise: Hands-on experience in at least one of the following programming languages or technologies: React.js, Next.js, .NET, Java, JavaScript, Python or Kotlin.
· API Experience: Hands-on experience testing or developing APIs.
· E-commerce Fulfilment: Desired hands-on experience testing order fulfilment for e-commerce, with a main focus on SAP Commerce (CCv2) and SAP ECC SD/MM.
· Automation & DevOps: Proven experience building test frameworks and applications, working with Git, API automation testing and microservices solutions, and setting up CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps or similar. Strong experience with Docker or similar.
· Agile Methodology: Experience working in an Agile environment and comfort with dynamic settings and requirements. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and can independently drive assigned tasks forward with precision and efficiency.
· Communication & Collaboration: Proficient in cross-functional communication, with a demonstrated ability to facilitate team communication and knowledge-sharing sessions.
· Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with modern development tools and processes, DevOps practices, cloud solutions such as Azure or AWS, Robot Framework, Selenium Grid, and reporting tools such as Grafana or ReportPortal.
· Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify opportunities for automation improvement or technical-debt reduction. Stay current with industry trends, tools and emerging practices.
· Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
