Senior QA Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Senior QA Engineer to join a project in the banking sector with a strong focus on finance and accounting systems. You will independently design and execute tests based on business and system analysis, prepare complex test scenarios and test data, and analyze defects. A solid understanding of accounting principles or hands-on experience testing accounting systems is key for this role.

Core skills you’ll bring

• Strong knowledge of finance and accounting, including chart of accounts, account analytics, accounting principles and rules, or demonstrable experience testing accounting systems

• Experience with testing accounting systems; participation in an accounting system replacement project is highly relevant

• Ability to independently analyze requirements and prepare test cases, complex test data and test prerequisites

• Ability to provide effort estimates for test preparation and execution activities

• Proficiency with JIRA and Zephyr, particularly for test case management, imports and defect management

• Familiarity with Enterprise Architect and UML

• Knowledge of both Waterfall and Agile software delivery methodologies

• Basic knowledge of tools used for integration, automated and performance test execution, such as ReadyAPI, Bruno, Playwright and JMeter

• Ability to effectively use AI tools for test analysis and design

• ISTQB certification or knowledge equivalent to ISTQB Advanced Level

• Understanding of common banking products and their purpose

• Experience analyzing test results and collaborating with relevant teams on defect analysis and resolution

• Czech or Slovak language proficiency at a native or near-native level

Nice-to-have

• General experience testing banking applications, including branch applications, digital channels or back-office applications

• Familiarity with logging and monitoring tools such as PEK, Graylog or Kibana

• Ability to develop automation scripts using TypeScript or Python

• Ability to coordinate a small team of testers of up to five colleagues

• Work independently with provided business and system analysis, applying your previous testing experience to determine the appropriate testing approach

• Analyze requirements and independently design and prepare test cases, complex test data and test prerequisites

• Prepare effort estimates for test preparation and execution activities

• Execute tests and manage test cases and defects using JIRA and Zephyr

• Use tools such as ReadyAPI, Bruno, Playwright and JMeter during integration, automation and performance test execution where relevant

• Leverage AI tools to support test analysis and test design

• Analyze test results and defects and collaborate with relevant teams on root-cause analysis and resolution

• Apply your understanding of finance, accounting principles and banking products when designing and evaluating tests

• Contribute to effective testing within Agile Scrum teams and collaborate across the project with a proactive, one-team approach
