🌍 About the Company
Our client is a Cyprus-registered FinTech company developing payment solutions for individuals and international businesses. Its products help make digital assets practical for everyday and high-value transactions.
The platform covers customer onboarding, cryptocurrency exchange, merchant invoicing, card payments and fiat settlement through web, mobile and API-based services. The company operates internationally, with reliability, security and compliance at the heart of its customer experience.
💼 About the Role
As a Senior Manual QA Engineer, you will take ownership of quality assurance across the company's web and mobile products, ensuring reliable and secure customer experiences throughout complex payment journeys.
This is a hands-on, independent role requiring proactive involvement throughout the product development lifecycle, from analysing requirements and preparing test plans to validating functionality and supporting releases.
You will work closely with developers and product stakeholders, identifying gaps, clarifying requirements and preparing testing scenarios while features are still in development.
Your work will directly impact customer trust across onboarding, KYC/KYB, cryptocurrency transactions, invoicing, payment tracking and settlement.
🔍 Responsibilities
Own and independently plan QA activities, prioritising testing efforts based on product requirements, risks and release timelines.
Analyse requirements, designs and specifications, identify gaps and proactively clarify uncertainties with Product Managers and developers.
Prepare structured test plans, scenarios and documentation before feature development is completed.
Work in parallel with frontend and backend teams to ensure testing readiness throughout development.
Perform functional, regression, exploratory, usability and compatibility testing across web and mobile applications.
Test APIs using OpenAPI specifications, creating and maintaining Postman collections based on API contracts.
Validate end-to-end customer journeys, including onboarding, authentication, account management, transactions and settlement.
Identify, document and investigate defects, providing clear reproduction steps, logs and supporting evidence.
Independently initiate requirements reviews and test-plan discussions with relevant stakeholders.
Contribute to improving QA processes, test documentation, release readiness and overall product quality.
🎓 Requirements
Strong hands-on experience in manual QA testing across web and mobile applications, preferably within a product development environment.
Proven ability to independently plan, organise and prioritise testing activities without detailed instructions or constant supervision.
Experience analysing incomplete requirements, reviewing specifications and proactively identifying missing information.
Ability to prepare test plans and scenarios during feature development, rather than waiting for completed functionality.
Strong understanding of software testing principles, defect lifecycles and functional, regression and exploratory testing.
Practical API testing experience using Postman and OpenAPI/Swagger specifications, including building test collections directly from API contracts.
Solid understanding of JSON structures, including data types, key-value relationships and case sensitivity.
Experience maintaining structured test documentation, identifying original sources of requirements and ensuring test coverage.
Confidence investigating issues using browser developer tools, application logs and other diagnostic tools.
Ability to independently coordinate requirements reviews and testing discussions with product and engineering teams.
Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail and clear written and spoken English.
Nice to Have
Experience testing FinTech, payments, banking, cryptocurrency or other financial-services products.
Basic knowledge of SQL, HTTP requests and client-server architecture.
Exposure to test automation or an interest in developing automation skills.
Experience testing complex financial transactions, payment statuses or compliance-sensitive workflows.
🤝 Key Competencies
Ownership and independence: Takes responsibility for QA planning, prioritisation and execution without constant guidance.
Proactive mindset: Anticipates testing needs, identifies gaps early and engages stakeholders before development is completed.

Technical understanding: Confidently works with API contracts, JSON structures and technical specifications.
Effective communication: Clearly explains defects, requirements gaps, testing risks and their business impact.
