Our Washington DC team at Hays is launching an exciting new Data Center Construction division, focused on one of the fastest-growing sectors in North America. Driven by continued investment in AI, cloud computing, and digital infrastructure, the data center market offers significant long-term growth, repeat client opportunities, and access to some of the industry's most high-profile construction projects. The team consists of industry experts with over 15 years of staffing expertise, consultants with proven recruitment success, and associates who have recently started their Hays journey. Your new role:
As a Senior Recruiter, you will focus on candidate delivery and talent acquisition within the Data Center Construction market. Working closely with our Account Managers & Consultants, you will identify, engage, assess, and manage top talent across contract and permanent opportunities.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Source, recruit, interview, evaluate, and place highly skilled professionals across Data Center Construction projects.
- Build and maintain a strong network of active and passive candidates through creative sourcing, networking, and market mapping.
- Partner closely with consultants and hiring managers to understand client requirements and deliver qualified talent.
- Manage the full candidate lifecycle, including screening, interview preparation, offer management, and onboarding support.
- Build talent pipelines across key disciplines including construction management, project management, engineering, supervision, commissioning, and skilled trades.
- Maintain ongoing communication with candidates throughout the recruitment process to ensure a positive candidate experience.
- Follow up with placed candidates to foster long-term relationships and strengthen your professional network.
- Develop deep market knowledge of the Data Center Construction industry and talent landscape.
- Build foundational recruitment and candidate engagement expertise while taking ownership of your professional development.
- Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities through Learning & Development.
- Actively showcase and live Hays values, vision, standards, and expectations for high performance.
What you will have:
- 3+ years of recruiting, talent acquisition, sourcing, staffing, or candidate delivery experience.
- Experience sourcing candidates through outbound recruitment techniques, networking, referrals, and direct outreach.
- Strong relationship-building and candidate management skills.
- Achievement-focused, resilient, authentic, and trustworthy.
- Self-motivated, self-reliant, and accountable for outcomes.
- Excellent communication skills with a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
- Desire for personal development and professional growth.
- Ability to work in-person in Arlington, VA.
- Reliable transportation to attend candidate meetings and industry events as needed.
What you will get:
- Base compensation of $64,400 - $74,750 PLUS uncapped commissions
- Hybrid/flexible schedule upon completion of the training program with a minimum of 3 days per week in office in Arlington, VA.
- PTO starting at 22 days, plus 2 floating holidays and 2 volunteer days.
