At PetVet Care Centers, our mission is to improve the lives of animals and people — providing exceptional and compassionate care at every stage — for all the moments that matter.
Because life is better with pets.
We deliver the Ultimate Care Experience — every pet, every client, every time. That starts with a Culture of Care that supports our team members as much as the pets and clients we serve.
With more than 400 locally led hospitals and over 11,000 team members nationwide, we offer:
- Local autonomy with national support
- Career mobility and development opportunities
- A collaborative, inclusive environment where your wellbeing comes first
You care for pets. We care for you.
Position Overview:
Reporting to the Manager of Talent Acquisition, the Talent Acquisition Partner will lead full-cycle recruiting for field leadership positions across PetVet Care Centers’ network of more than 400 locations. This position will primarily recruit Hospital Managers and Regional Managers while also supporting corporate and Center Support roles based on evolving business needs.
The ideal candidate is an experienced, proactive recruiter who can manage a high-volume requisition portfolio, build strong relationships with hiring leaders, and develop creative sourcing strategies for markets across multiple time zones. A combination of agency and in-house corporate recruiting experience is strongly preferred.
This is a hybrid position based in Westport, Connecticut with an onsite requirement 2+ days a week.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead full-cycle recruiting for field leadership positions, including Hospital Managers and Regional Managers, across PetVet’s nationwide network of veterinary hospitals.
- Recruit for corporate and Center Support positions as business needs arise.
- Partner closely with Regional Vice Presidents, Regional Managers, Operations leaders, and corporate hiring managers to understand business needs, define candidate profiles, and develop effective recruiting strategies.
- Manage a high-volume portfolio of open positions across multiple regions and time zones while maintaining responsiveness, organization, and a high-quality candidate experience.
- Conduct intake meetings with hiring leaders to clarify role requirements, market considerations, interview processes, and recruiting timelines.
- Develop compelling, accurate, and inclusive job postings and maintain current requisition information within the applicant tracking system.
- Build targeted sourcing strategies using LinkedIn Recruiter, resume databases, professional networks, social media, referrals, email, text outreach, and other sourcing tools.
- Proactively identify and engage passive candidates, building sustainable pipelines for current and anticipated hiring needs.
- Screen and interview candidates, assess qualifications and organizational fit, and provide hiring teams with clear and timely recommendations.
- Coordinate the candidate interview process, including virtual and onsite interviews, hospital or office tours, meet-and-greets, and other candidate-related activities.
- Facilitate biweekly recruiting check-ins with Regional Vice Presidents and Regional Managers to review priorities, candidate pipelines, market conditions, and recruiting roadblocks.
- Provide regular updates to Operations and Talent Acquisition leadership regarding candidate flow, sourcing activity, aging requisitions, competitive market trends, compensation, and hiring challenges.
- Track, analyze, and communicate key recruiting metrics, including pipeline activity, time to fill, source effectiveness, offer acceptance, and other relevant performance indicators.
- Partner with hiring leaders and Human Resources on offer strategy, compensation alignment, offer preparation, and candidate negotiations.
- Drive internal and external referral activity and identify opportunities to strengthen PetVet’s talent network and employer brand.
- Maintain an active and professional presence on LinkedIn and other relevant social media platforms.
- Build relationships with professional associations, industry contacts, educational institutions, and other community partners to strengthen long-term talent pipelines.
- Stay current on recruiting trends, sourcing tools, market conditions, and emerging ways to connect with talent.
- Ensure recruiting practices and candidate records are accurate, consistent, and aligned with company policies and applicable employment requirements.
Qualifications (Required)
- At least 7+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, preferably supporting a high-growth, multi-location, or geographically dispersed organization.
- Demonstrated experience managing high-volume recruiting needs and multiple concurrent searches.
- Experience recruiting across different functions and levels, including leadership and corporate positions.
- Ability to effectively support hiring managers, candidates, and recruiting activity across multiple U.S. time zones.
- Strong sourcing skills, including experience using LinkedIn Recruiter, resume databases, social media, referral networks, and direct outreach.
- Experience working with applicant tracking systems and recruiting-related technology.
- Strong interviewing, candidate-assessment, and offer-negotiation skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and build credibility with candidates and senior business partners.
- Strong organizational and project-management skills, with the ability to balance shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to interpret recruiting data, identify trends, and translate information into clear, actionable updates.
- Comfortable learning new systems, platforms, and processes.
- Ability to work independently while remaining highly collaborative and connected to a broader Talent Acquisition team.
