About Outpost

Outpost is a fast-growing, tech-enabled marketing agency focused entirely on Reddit. We help brands earn a real, lasting presence in the communities that shape how people discover and choose them.

Reddit has quietly become one of the most trusted places on the internet. Before people buy almost anything today, they go to Reddit for honest, unfiltered opinions from real people. Those threads rank at the top of Google and get cited in AI answers like ChatGPT. For a brand, that is a large opportunity and a real risk at the same time. Most brands have no idea how to show up. The ones that try usually get it wrong. They spam a few subreddits, watch their posts get removed and end up hurting the reputation they came to build.

We take the opposite approach. Everything we do is white-hat and fully in the open. We represent a brand as itself, or as a named member of its team, and we earn attention by being genuinely useful in the conversations that matter. No fake accounts and no pretending to be someone we are not.

Our work for a client comes in two halves. First, we join the conversations already happening across their space: people asking for recommendations, comparing them with competitors and describing the exact problem the brand solves. Second, we build the brand a home of its own: a subreddit that becomes their community over time. Our platform does the monitoring and prioritization behind both. Real people do the strategy, the writing and the judgment.

The role

As our Senior Reddit Strategist, you own how every client shows up on Reddit: the plan, the people doing the work and the quality of what goes live.

You lead our Reddit marketers and community managers. You decide what each client should be doing and when, you review the work before it posts and you make the hard calls. You are also the person each client trusts with their presence on Reddit.

This is a senior role and a hands-on one. You will be in the threads, reviewing drafts and writing when it matters, not only managing. You will also help shape the playbook every client runs on.

What the work actually looks like

  • Plan each client's program. You tailor our playbook to each brand. A typical program includes setting up the brand's accounts, taking part in the high-priority threads that matter to them, creating the brand's own subreddit and bringing their community together in one place. You also own the creative strategy: when the playbook doesn't cover something, you come up with the idea, organic or paid.

  • Lead the marketers. Every client is assigned a Reddit marketer and community manager, who leads the work day to day and represents the client on Reddit. You make sure their work stays on track: you review drafts before anything goes live, make the call on tricky threads and coach each marketer every week.

  • Own the client relationship. You run each client's monthly call: what we did, what it got them and what comes next. Early on you are also their account manager.

  • Train clients on Reddit. Clients are often not Reddit natives, so you teach their team how Reddit works and what to expect from it.

  • Make the playbook better. You bring back what worked and what didn't on every account, so the next client starts ahead.

Everything we post is disclosed and approved before it goes live. When a high-priority thread breaks, the team is in it fast, and you make sure that happens.

What we're looking for

  • A deep understanding of Reddit culture. You have a real personal Reddit history, you know how subreddit rules work and you can tell which ideas a community will reward and which it will remove.

  • At least 3 years of working on Reddit professionally, with experience from the inside: running Reddit Ads for brands or working at Reddit Inc.

  • You have run Reddit strategy for brands, and you can show the plan and what happened.

  • You have managed, trained or reviewed other people's work.

  • You would rather do the work than only manage it. This is a senior, hands-on seat, not a director role.

  • You are comfortable working fully disclosed, under real names.

Preferred

  • 5+ years in a role directly tied to Reddit.

  • You have worked at Reddit Inc., ideally on Karma Lab, Reddit's creative strategy team.

  • Agency experience.

  • Data fluency. You can pull the numbers behind a program and explain what they mean to a client.

  • You have run organic Reddit or community for a brand.

  • You know consumer ecommerce brands.

  • You have managed freelancers across time zones.

  • You know SEO or AEO/GEO.

Compensation: $72K to $212K a year, plus 0.25% to 0.5% equity. The exact pay depends on your seniority and the number of clients you manage.

Employment Type: This is a full-time role.
