About 401GO

401GO is a modern retirement plan provider making employer-sponsored retirement plans simpler, more accessible, and more effective for businesses, financial advisors, and their clients. We combine innovative technology, streamlined administration, and dedicated relationship support. Our philosophy is simple: Automate everything but relationships.

Position Overview

401GO is seeking an accomplished, highly connected retirement plan distribution professional to accelerate new business growth through our Financial Advisor channel. This senior individual contributor role is focused on activating established advisor relationships, developing new partnerships, and generating retirement plan production-not maintaining an existing book of business or managing a team.

The successful candidate will bring a strong network of productive financial advisors and the experience to convert trusted relationships into measurable business results. Territory alignment will reflect the candidate's existing relationships and market opportunity. You will partner with Senior Advisors of Plan Solutions (SAPs), who provide technical expertise in plan design, competitive positioning, and deal execution.

Key Responsibilities

Advisor Relationship Development

  • Activate and expand established relationships with financial advisors who advise on employer-sponsored retirement plans.
  • Identify high-potential retirement specialists, registered investment advisers (RIAs), broker-dealers, and distribution partners.
  • Position 401GO as a preferred solution for new retirement plan opportunities and deepen productive advisor partnerships.

New Business Development and Territory Growth

  • Own qualified opportunity creation, pipeline development, and closed-plan production within the assigned territory.
  • Build and execute a prioritized territory strategy focused on high-producing advisors and meaningful growth opportunities.
  • Use a disciplined, top-down sales approach, maintain accurate forecasts, and deliver against agreed-upon production goals.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen relationships, increase plan assets, and support retention and regional revenue growth.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with SAPs on plan design, competitive strategy, and technical aspects of prospective opportunities.
  • Coordinate with National Account Management to activate strategic distribution relationships.
  • Share market intelligence, advisor feedback, and best practices to support channel strategy and execution.

Industry Presence

  • Represent 401GO in advisor meetings, industry events, and other relevant relationship-building opportunities.
  • Maintain current knowledge of retirement plan trends, regulatory considerations, recordkeeping, and the competitive landscape.

Required Qualifications

  • Extensive success in retirement plan wholesaling or defined contribution distribution; 15+ years of experience strongly preferred.
  • Established, demonstrable relationships with productive financial advisors focused on employer-sponsored retirement plans.
  • Proven history of significant new-plan production, business development, and achievement of sales goals.
  • Strong understanding of 401(k) plan design, recordkeeping, administration, fiduciary considerations, and advisor distribution.
  • Ability to earn credibility with sophisticated advisors and influence retirement plan provider selection.
  • Entrepreneurial, consultative, and collaborative approach, with the ability to work independently in a results-driven environment.
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly for advisor meetings and industry events.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with an established recordkeeper or retirement technology provider.
  • Relationships with high-producing retirement specialists serving small and midsize employers.
  • Connections across RIA aggregators, advisor networks, and retirement-focused distribution organizations.
  • Experience displacing incumbent providers or expanding into new markets.
  • Professional designations such as AIF, CPFA, CRPS, or C(k)P.
  • Experience mentoring colleagues or supporting distribution expansion initiatives.

What Success Looks Like

In the first 90 days, you will establish a territory and relationship plan, activate priority advisor contacts, build a qualified opportunity pipeline, and develop an effective partnership cadence with plan solutions specialists.

Within the first six months, you will be working toward agreed-upon production targets, building repeatable advisor-driven opportunity sources, expanding 401GO's presence in your territory, and contributing insights to channel strategy.

Why Join 401GO?

  • Help shape the growth of a modern retirement plan provider with a differentiated technology-and-service model.
  • Work directly with revenue leadership and influence territory and distribution strategy.
  • Collaborate with dedicated specialists who support plan design and account expansion.
  • Join a performance-oriented, relationship-driven team with compensation opportunity tied to production.
  • Support advisors while 401GO manages the operational complexity behind retirement plans.
