Company Description

For over 17 years, Biorius has been a recognized expert in cosmetic regulatory compliance. We support brands worldwide with ingredient assessment, finished product compliance, and product registration in Europe, the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, and more than 60 additional countries.

Our multidisciplinary team of more than 50 experts — toxicologists, pharmacists, chemists, and regulatory specialists — simplifies complex requirements, enabling brands ranging from independent start-ups to major international groups to bring their products to global markets with confidence.

Role

Biorius is seeking a Senior Regulatory Expert to strengthen its regulatory team and manage highly technical cosmetic regulatory cases. You will work on complex regulatory matters across European and international markets while acting as a key point of reference for our clients and more junior team members.

We are looking for someone who is rigorous, autonomous, and curious, with the ability to analyze complex situations, anticipate regulatory developments, and turn expertise into clear, practical recommendations. If you enjoy solving demanding regulatory challenges, advising international clients, and sharing your knowledge, we would love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead complex regulatory cases involving the compliance of cosmetic products and their ingredients with European, UK, US, and international regulations.
  • Act as a technical point of reference for key accounts on sensitive regulatory matters, including claims, controversial ingredients, entry into new markets, and cross-cutting regulations affecting cosmetics.
  • Provide technical support to more junior team members and contribute to internal knowledge sharing.
  • Maintain active regulatory monitoring, analyze legislative developments, and communicate their impact to clients and internal teams.
  • Contribute to the development of Biorius’ service offering by participating in internal working groups and preparing expert content.
  • Interact directly with the relevant authorities in connection with registration or notification files, depending on the market concerned.
  • Collaborate with regulatory, toxicology, and commercial teams to provide solutions tailored to client needs.

Ideal Candidate

  • In-depth expertise in cosmetic regulatory affairs.
  • Excellent command of Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009 and strong knowledge of regulations applicable to cosmetics in Europe and internationally.
  • Proven ability to manage several complex cases simultaneously with rigor, structure, and a strong sense of priorities.
  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to provide clear recommendations on technical matters.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and confidence when engaging with international clients and a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Intellectual curiosity and a genuine interest in a constantly evolving regulatory environment.
  • Autonomy, a strong sense of responsibility, and a collaborative mindset.

Experience & Education

  • Experience: A minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience in cosmetic regulatory affairs.
  • Education: Master’s degree in science — pharmacy, toxicology, chemistry, or biology — or in regulatory affairs.
  • Languages: Fluent English, both spoken and written. Additional languages, particularly French, German, Spanish, Italian, or Mandarin, are an advantage.

Why Join Biorius

  • A strategic role with a high level of autonomy within an internationally recognized company.
  • Varied and stimulating assignments for clients ranging from independent brands to major international groups.
  • A collaborative, multidisciplinary environment where scientific expertise is central to the company culture.

What We Offer

  • A full-time permanent position based in Wavre, Toulouse, or Saint-Malo.
  • A partial remote-working policy and flexible work arrangements.
  • Genuine opportunities for career development within a growing company.
  • An attractive compensation package reflecting your expertise and experience.
  • The opportunity to develop your expertise across international markets and leading regulatory topics.

We recognize that in real life, great people do not always tick all the boxes. We hire for potential as well as experience. Even if you do not meet every requirement in the job description, if this role and our company feel like a strong fit, we would still love to hear from you.

Interested candidates should submit their CV and a short cover letter outlining their regulatory experience to job@biorius.com, using “Senior Regulatory Expert” as the email subject line.
