About Us

We are a construction-focused organization committed to delivering complex projects through disciplined contract management, operational excellence, financial transparency, and effective risk management. Our multidisciplinary teams collaborate across Project Management, Construction, Engineering, Procurement, Commercial, Legal, Finance, Human Resources, Design, Quality, HSE, Consultants, Contractors, Suppliers, Logistics, Administration, Information Technology, and Executive Leadership to protect organizational assets, manage insurance exposures, and support sustainable business operations.

We recognize the importance of effective reinsurance arrangements, robust treaty administration, and reliable risk transfer strategies in managing significant insurance exposures. Through careful treaty structuring, accurate ceded premium calculations, disciplined claims recovery management, and collaboration with insurers, reinsurers, brokers, and internal stakeholders, we aim to strengthen financial resilience and maintain appropriate protection against material losses.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Reinsurance Treaty Specialist to manage and coordinate reinsurance treaty arrangements, treaty documentation, risk cessions, premium calculations, recoveries, and ongoing treaty compliance. The successful candidate will support the design, placement, administration, and monitoring of reinsurance programs to ensure that contractual terms are accurately implemented and that reinsurance protection remains aligned with the organization's risk profile and insurance requirements.

The role will involve reviewing treaty wordings, monitoring treaty limits and retentions, calculating ceded premiums, validating reinsurance recoveries, maintaining treaty records, and supporting renewal negotiations. The specialist will collaborate with Finance, Risk Management, Legal, Claims, Procurement, Commercial, insurance providers, reinsurance brokers, and external reinsurers to improve treaty performance, strengthen risk transfer arrangements, and ensure compliance with applicable contractual, accounting, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate the administration of reinsurance treaty arrangements across relevant insurance portfolios and risk categories.
  • Support the design, placement, renewal, and ongoing management of proportional and non-proportional reinsurance treaties.
  • Administer quota share, surplus, excess-of-loss, stop-loss, and other treaty structures where applicable.
  • Review treaty terms, conditions, exclusions, limits, deductibles, attachment points, reinstatement provisions, and other contractual features.
  • Ensure treaty documentation accurately reflects negotiated terms and approved reinsurance arrangements.
  • Coordinate the preparation, review, execution, and maintenance of treaty contracts, endorsements, schedules, slips, and supporting documentation.
  • Maintain a centralized repository of treaty agreements, renewal records, reinsurer details, premium schedules, correspondence, and contractual amendments.
  • Review treaty wordings to identify ambiguities, inconsistencies, coverage limitations, and potential contractual risks.
  • Coordinate with Legal, Compliance, and external advisers to resolve treaty wording issues and clarify contractual obligations.
  • Monitor treaty inception dates, expiry dates, renewal deadlines, notice requirements, and other critical contractual milestones.
  • Support annual and mid-term treaty renewals by compiling portfolio data, claims experience, exposure information, and relevant underwriting statistics.
  • Prepare renewal submissions containing risk profiles, insured values, exposure summaries, loss histories, and other information required by reinsurers.
  • Analyze historical claims performance, loss ratios, catastrophe exposures, and portfolio changes to support renewal strategy.
  • Assist in evaluating reinsurance capacity, pricing, retention levels, limits, and coverage structures.
  • Coordinate with reinsurance brokers and reinsurers during renewal negotiations, market submissions, and placement discussions.
  • Compare proposed treaty terms, pricing, exclusions, commissions, and capacity across available market options.
  • Provide analytical support for evaluating treaty alternatives and identifying opportunities to improve coverage and cost efficiency.
  • Review reinsurer quotations, indications, proposed amendments, and final placement terms for accuracy and completeness.
  • Support the placement of reinsurance protection with appropriate counterparties, subject to internal approval and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor reinsurer participation, subscribed shares, signed lines, and outstanding placement documentation.
  • Maintain accurate records of reinsurer allocations and ensure that treaty participation reconciles with the executed contractual arrangements.
  • Calculate and validate ceded premiums in accordance with treaty terms, applicable rates, exposure measures, and agreed premium bases.
  • Review minimum and deposit premiums, adjustment premiums, profit commissions, brokerage, taxes, and other treaty-related financial components where applicable.
  • Reconcile ceded premium calculations with underwriting records, insurance premium registers, and financial accounting data.
  • Monitor premium settlements, payment schedules, outstanding balances, and adjustments arising from changes in the underlying portfolio.
  • Coordinate with Finance and Accounts Payable teams to ensure timely and accurate settlement of reinsurance premiums.
  • Review bordereaux and other periodic reports submitted to reinsurers or brokers for completeness and accuracy.
  • Validate policies, risks, premiums, claims, and exposure data included in treaty bordereaux.
  • Investigate discrepancies between underwriting systems, claims systems, treaty records, and reinsurance statements.
  • Maintain detailed reconciliation schedules and supporting evidence for treaty-related transactions.
  • Administer reinsurance claims recoveries in accordance with the applicable treaty provisions.
