About IWSR

IWSR is the global authority on beverage alcohol data and intelligence, tracking 160+ markets, and is now part of WGSN. For over 50 years, the leaders of global drinks businesses have used our market data, consumer insights and on-the-ground intelligence to plan their strategy and investment. Our clients include multinational spirits, beer and wine companies, packaging and ingredient manufacturers, distributors and financial institutions.

About the Role

Our Consumer Data team sits at the heart of IWSR's consumer behaviour and attitudes offering. Every year we design, collect and analyse over 250,000 consumer interviews across around 34 markets.

As Senior Research Analyst, you'll run the day-to-day of our e-commerce strategic study, working closely with the Research Manager who oversees our strategic studies. You'll also bring hands-on segmentation experience into the team at a time when demand from clients for segmentation and demand space work is growing. It's a close-knit team that takes data quality seriously, and this role has a clear route to grow.

What You'll Do

  • Run the e-commerce strategic study day to day, from survey build through fieldwork to final data delivery.

  • Run cluster analysis and segmentation projects on consumer survey data, from choosing input variables and methodology through to profiling and sizing the final segments.

  • Work directly with external panel providers on sampling, quota design, launches and fieldwork issues.

  • Clean, weight and quality-check large and complex datasets, and build final deliverables such as Excel tables, databases and dashboards.

  • Script and test questionnaires in Forsta Surveys (Decipher) or an equivalent platform.

  • Support consulting and syndicated projects across the team, including desk research to give context to the data.

  • Contribute to process reviews and help lead improvements to how we work.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience in quantitative consumer research, ideally on large-scale survey projects.

  • Experience of cluster analysis and segmentation on consumer data, using Latent Gold or an equivalent tool. Ideally you have run one yourself.

  • Experience running quant projects end to end, including planning, fieldwork, data quality and delivery.

  • Direct experience working with panel providers, and a good understanding of sampling, quotas and weighting.

  • Confidence with SPSS or Q Research (or equivalent) and advanced Excel.

  • High attention to detail and strong problem-solving.

  • Clear communication with internal colleagues and external suppliers.

  • The ability to manage several projects and deadlines at once and to make sound decisions on your own.

Nice to Have

  • Forsta Surveys (Decipher) or other survey programming experience. We can teach this.

  • Experience calibrating survey data against population or volume benchmarks for market sizing.

  • Global or multi-market research experience.

  • Python, R, SQL, VBA or other automation tools.

  • MRS Basic or Advanced certification.

  • An active interest in AI tools and how they can help research.

  • French, written and spoken.

Experience

Around 4 to 6 years in quantitative consumer or market research, agency side or in a data-focused client-side team. Experience from any consumer sector is welcome. You don't need to have worked in drinks.

Location & Ways of Working

This role is based in London on a hybrid basis, with three days a week in our office in Bloomsbury.

Benefits: In addition to a competitive salary, IWSR offers

  • Generous time off: 25 days holiday plus bank holidays and a company-wide end-of-year break.

  • Flexible work environment: Hybrid working model with flexible hours.

  • Comprehensive perks: Annual bonus scheme, pension, regular social events, and a volunteering policy.

  • Growth opportunities: Lots of learning and development opportunities
