EAC Network, a leading not-for-profit social service agency dedicated to helping over 79,000 people through 100 impactful programs across Long Island and NYC, is looking for a part time Respite Companion to join the Respite Companion program. Salary: $17/ hour Schedule: up to 20 hours per week Location: Travel to clients homes throughout Nassau County region What drives the core purpose of this job: To provide "time off" for the caregiver of a home-bound elderly person. What are the key responsibilities: Participate in orientation and in-service workshops. Provide supervision and companionship on an individual basis to elderly persons. Assist care recipient with everyday routines such as eating, walking and light exercise. Submit records and time sheets on a timely basis. Report any problems which affect service to the Sr. Director or Program Coordinator. What key knowledge, skills, and abilities are required to excel in this role: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to relate appropriately with elderly individuals.
