About The Role
You’ll be responsible for managing revenue accounting across Thndr’s entities, making sure all revenue is recorded correctly, invoices are issued, collections are followed up on, and settlements are reconciled on time.
You’ll work closely with the Finance, Operations, Product, and Engineering teams to understand where our revenue comes from and make sure everything is reflected correctly in our books. This includes working with data from our platform, banks, clearing houses, and other partners, as well as handling month-end reporting and investigating any discrepancies.
As Thndr continues to grow and expand into new markets, there will also be opportunities to improve how we work. Some processes are already in place, while others will need to be developed or improved. We’re looking for someone who is comfortable taking ownership, getting into the details, and finding practical ways to get things done.
What You'll Do
Revenue accounting & recognition
• Record revenue transactions across Thndr’s entities, products, and markets, including journal entries, accruals, deferrals, and intercompany allocations
• Make sure revenue is recognized correctly under IFRS 15 and relevant local accounting standards
• Review new products, pricing changes, and commercial arrangements to understand their accounting treatment
• Account for refunds, fee reversals, credit notes, promotional offers, and referral incentives
Billing, collections & receivables
• Prepare and issue invoices to asset managers and other partners based on agreed fees and commercial terms
• Keep track of outstanding receivables, follow up on overdue payments, and maintain accurate ageing reports
• Review partner agreements to make sure fees are recorded and billed correctly
• Investigate differences in billed or collected amounts and follow up with the relevant teams until resolved
Settlement & reconciliations
• Reconcile revenue data from our platform with settlement reports from clearing houses, asset managers, banks, and other partners
• Match user transactions and bank statements against the general ledger
• Investigate differences, understand what caused them, and work with the relevant teams to resolve them
• Keep reconciliations accurate, up to date, and properly documented across our entities and currencies
Month-end close & reporting
• Prepare revenue journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules as part of the month-end close
• Prepare revenue reports for management, highlighting changes across products, markets, and entities
• Compare financial results with operational metrics such as trading volumes, assets under management (AUM), and subscriber numbers
• Make sure revenue balances are accurate and supported by the necessary documentation
Tax, audit & regulatory support
• Support VAT and withholding tax requirements related to revenue, working with the Finance team and external advisors where needed
• Prepare revenue schedules and supporting documents for audits and regulatory reporting
• Respond to audit queries and help resolve any issues related to revenue accounting
• Keep financial records and supporting documents organized and ready for review
Process improvement
• Review existing revenue accounting processes and identify where things can be done more efficiently
• Improve manual reconciliations and reporting, including automating tasks where possible
• Document processes and put clearer controls in place as the business grows
• Work with Operations, Product, and Engineering to resolve issues affecting revenue data and reporting
What You'll Need
• 4–5 years of experience in revenue accounting, ideally in fintech, financial services, brokerage, banking, payments, or asset management
• A good understanding of accounting principles, particularly IFRS 15 and revenue recognition
• Experience handling the revenue cycle, including bookkeeping, billing, collections, and reconciliations
• Experience working with high transaction volumes, multiple products, counterparties, or currencies
• Strong Excel skills and experience working with ERP systems and large datasets
• Good analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to investigate discrepancies and understand what went wrong
• A hands-on approach and willingness to get into the details rather than just oversee the process
• Someone who takes ownership, follows up on outstanding items, and makes sure things get done
• Comfortable working in a changing environment where not every process is already defined
• Well organized and able to manage deadlines and competing priorities
• Fluent written and spoken English
• A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with a strong academic background
Key outcomes:
• Revenue is recorded and recognized accurately across all entities, products, and markets
• Invoices, collections, and receivables are properly tracked, with overdue balances followed up on
• Revenue and settlement reconciliations are completed on time, and discrepancies are resolved
• Month-end revenue entries, reconciliations, and reports are delivered accurately and on schedule
• Revenue reports clearly explain movements across products and markets and are linked to operational data
• Revenue accounting processes are documented, and manual work is reduced wherever possible
Nice to have:
Experience working across multiple legal entities, markets, and currencies
Experience in a regulated financial services business, particularly brokerage, banking, payments, or asset management
ACCA, ACA, CPA, ESAA, or an equivalent qualification, completed or in progress
Exposure to VAT, corporate income tax (CIT), or withholding tax (WHT)
Experience with ERP implementations or finance process automation
Experience working with Product, Operations, or Engineering teams

At the same time, we’re shaping the future of investing while actively driving the economies we serve by promoting local investment products.
History has shown that investing is the single greatest way to build long-term wealth, but before Thndr, only a very small percentage of people had access to it due to:
High barriers to entry - In the form of excessive minimum account balances, complex, outdated onboarding, and low financial literacy.
Irrelevant experience - Catered toward expert traders and financial specialists, therefore alienating the majority of the population.
Fragmented offering - Investment products were not gathered in a single, intuitive outlet.
We don't just talk about change, we deliver it. Here's a glimpse into our impact so far:
