Empower Your Career within a Leading Software Company

About the position

Join our Library team as we grow Cicero, our cloud-based Library Management System, across Sweden and beyond. You'll be the bridge between library domain expertise, technical product knowledge and commercial support – delivering compelling product presentations, shaping proposals during the tender phase, and guiding customers through their daily use of Cicero.

The position is located in Stockholm and is part of Systematic's Library Business Unit. You'll work closely with Business Development Managers across markets and the Operations team handling implementations, support and other services, and become part of a Library BU counting approximately 70 colleagues across Denmark, Sweden, Romania and Germany.

Play a key role in growing Cicero

As our new Senior Sales Engineer, you will combine commercial flair with deep library domain knowledge. Amongst other tasks, you will plan and deliver in-depth Cicero product presentations and demonstrations to prospective customers, tailored to each library's profile and system landscape. With a focus on understanding customer needs, you will lead the initial functional and technical requirements assessment during tenders and proposals, and support customers in live operation with Cicero. Working closely with Business Development, Product Management and Service Delivery, you will make a difference by:
• Planning, preparing and delivering Cicero product presentations and demonstrations to prospective public libraries, covering the LMS, web, app and event booking.
• Conducting the first functional and technical assessment of customer requirements during the pre-sales and tender phase, mapping the customer's current system landscape, identifying fit and gaps against Cicero, and contributing to solution descriptions in proposals and RFP responses.
• Providing day-to-day support (in Swedish and English) to customers in live operation with Cicero, guiding on features, workflows and best practices, and acting as an escalation point for functional and domain-related questions.
• Supporting structured onboarding of new customers together with the implementation team, and documenting customer insights for input into product development.
• Staying up to date with developments in library technology – LMS platforms, web, app, event booking, linked data and digital interfaces – and feeding relevant insights into product strategy.
• Proactively identifying upsell and expansion opportunities within the existing customer base.
• Building and sharing internal knowledge on library sector trends and market developments across the Library BU.

Occasional travel is expected to customers and national library conferences within Sweden and the Nordics, and to Systematic's headquarters in Aarhus and other European markets – approximately 20-30 travel days per year.

Technologies and domain

• LMS platforms (e.g. Cicero, Quria, Koha, Alma or similar)
• Customer-facing solutions: web, app and event booking (EB1)
• Library workflows: cataloguing, circulation, user administration, reporting
• Integration landscapes across library systems
• Product demonstration and pre-sales tools

A Senior Sales Engineer with a passion for libraries

We seek a colleague with an MA or BA degree in Library and/or Humanities, or a comparable qualification with demonstrated library domain knowledge. Someone with a minimum of 5 years of professional experience from the library sector or from vendors delivering to it, who can work independently, take ownership, and engage credibly with both library professionals and internal colleagues.
It is essential that you have solid practical experience working in or with public libraries, in-depth knowledge of LMS and customer-facing solutions, and hands-on experience with product demonstrations and pre-sales activities – you should be able to deliver credible, customer-facing Cicero presentations from day one. Experience with implementation, configuration or use of LMSs is highly valued.

What we are looking for:

• MA or BA degree in Library and/or Humanities, or equivalent demonstrated domain knowledge;
• Minimum 5 years of experience from the library sector or at vendors delivering to it;
• Proven experience with product demonstrations and pre-sales activities;
• Native Swedish in writing and speech, with excellent English proficiency;
• Strong verbal, written and presentation skills, with an outgoing, customer-oriented and persuasive communication style;
• High degree of ownership, flexibility and confidence in customer interactions;
• Nice to have: experience with implementation or configuration of LMS platforms, and familiarity with integration landscapes in the library sector.
