Senior Sales Manager, Americas - Weaving Division

This position is a US based role with Groz-Beckert USA, Inc., which is headquartered in Simpsonville, South Carolina, and is primarily a travel and home based position.

The Senior Sales Manager Americas takes end-to-end responsibility for leading the Weaving sales organization and developing markets across the Americas in close alignment with the regional sales team agents, dealers, and resellers.

The role combines sales leadership with direct customer engagement and execution, including customer consulting, deal closing, price quality management, and the development of effective sales channels. The position carries full accountability for sustainable revenue, market share, margin, and active customer growth.

The role also requires the ability to operate effectively across diverse cultural and regulatory environments.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Leadership & Market Development

  • Lead, manage, and develop the sales organization
  • Define and execute the sales strategy in alignment with the global Weaving sales strategy
  • Strategic development of markets and growth opportunities across the Americas
  • Ownership of profitable growth, including margin, pricing, and profitability by market
  • Identification of new products, services, and business opportunities based on customer and market needs
  • Stronger pricing and commercial excellence responsibilities
  • Building a culture of transparency, accountability, and fact-based decision-making
  • Cross-functional leadership with Product Management, Marketing, Operations, and Finance
  • Drive continuous improvement and innovative commercial approaches
  • Promote the Groz-Beckert brand as a leading brand in Weaving

Customer Management & Sales Execution

  • Maintain direct relationships with key customers, OEMs, and strategic accounts
  • Maintain a clear view of customer potential by country and customer and convert it into sales growth
  • Secure, maintain, and increase the customer base and customer structure
  • Provide professional customer consulting to enhance customer success
  • Ensure regular, high-quality customer visits and contacts, prioritized by customer potential and strategic sales activities
  • Issue offers proactively and increase the total number of offers
  • Ensure systematic and timely follow-up of relevant offers and report the outcomes
  • Ensure that customer interactions are documented in the official reporting system of Groz-Beckert
  • Support the resolution of customer complaints and commercially critical topics

Budget, Forecast & Performance Accountability

  • Take responsibility for budgeting and forecasting for the Americas
  • Be accountable for budget achievement, including:
    • Gross sales
    • Price quality
    • Margin development
  • Measure success by achievement of sales targets, margin, and price quality

Market, Competition & Intelligence

  • Maintain a thorough understanding of:
    • Market size and market potential
    • Competitive landscape
  • Know all key customers and relevant industry stakeholders
    • OEMs
    • Agents and dealers, including competitors
    • Suppliers of complementary equipment
  • Collect and report structured information on markets, customers, and competitors
  • Understand and report relevant subsidy schemes, government programs, and supported industrial investments

Sales Channel & Partner Management

  • Build-up, manage, and develop the sales network through direct sales, agents, and dealers
  • Ensure cost-, efficiency-, and performance-optimized management of all sales channels within the area of responsibility
  • Coordinate weaving machine projects across territories and actively convince customers to specify Groz-Beckert products
  • Actively promote the Groz-Beckert portal and online business as an integral part of the sales approach

Sales Operations & Systems

  • Ensure accurate documentation of:
  • Installed machine base at each customer
  • Customer data and activities recorded in the Groz-Beckert official reporting system
  • Provide structured feedback on customer requirements related to:
    • Product functionality and features
    • Price expectations
  • Define clear requirements for price and volume when special prices are requested and take responsibility for the required approval process
  • Ensure reliable sales reporting and transparency regarding opportunities, risks, forecasts, and actions

Marketing, Events & Trade Fairs

  • Plan, organize, and execute customer events in alignment with Corporate Marketing and global Group CI
  • Support and participate in international trade fairs
  • Visit local trade fairs and exhibitions where customers are exhibiting or where customer interaction is relevant

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has direct supervisory responsibilities.

Required Education and Experience

  • Four-year degree in Business (preferred), Textiles, or compatible working experience
  • Proven leadership experience in sales, preferably within an international industrial environment
  • Sales-oriented personality with high motivation for direct customer sales and team development
  • Technical and commercial background
  • Strong understanding of textile production processes, with a focus on weaving
  • In-depth expertise in weaving accessories
  • Experience in developing markets, sales channels, agents, and dealers
  • Strong capability in strategic account management, negotiations, budgeting, and forecasting
  • Clear, professional communication skills across different organizational levels
  • High level of customer empathy, intercultural awareness, and regional understanding of the Americas
  • Persuasion skills combined with perseverance and resilience
  • Trustworthiness, credibility, and integrity
  • Assertiveness, ownership, and commitment
  • Willingness to travel extensively across the Americas ~50-75% travel time
  • Fluency in English, written and spoken, Spanish is an advantage
