POSITION SUMMARY The Senior Salesforce Developer designs and builds solutions on the Salesforce platform supporting the customer's Salesforce Center of Innovation. This is a hands-on engineering role. You will own complex development work end to end, from technical design through deployment, and serve as the senior technical voice the team relies on for the problems no one else can solve. You will also help keep a large enterprise platform healthy, which means owning root cause analysis on the hardest defects and working directly with Salesforce when a platform issue needs to be pushed upstream. WHAT YOU WILL DO Build Design, develop, test, and deploy custom Salesforce solutions using Apex, Lightning Web Components, Flows, and declarative configuration. Build and maintain integrations between Salesforce and external systems using REST and SOAP APIs, platform events, and middleware. Extend the data model, including objects, relationships, sharing rules, and permission sets, so the platform scales cleanly as the mission grows. Design and Quality Translate business requirements into scalable technical designs and document the approach so the team can build against it. Review code, write and maintain unit tests, and hold the line on Salesforce best practices around governor limits, security, and maintainability. Manage releases through source control and CI/CD pipelines using Git, Salesforce CLI, scratch orgs, and sandboxes. Keep the org current through Salesforce's three annual releases by assessing impact, testing, and remediating ahead of each one. Solve Serve as the senior technical escalation point for complex defects, isolating root causes across code, configuration, integrations, and platform behavior. Write root cause analysis for critical issues and drive the corrective and preventive work that keeps them from recurring. Coordinate directly with Salesforce Support and platform vendors on issues that require it. Lead Mentor developers and administrators and provide technical direction toward reusable, secure, maintainable solutions. Partner with product owners, architects, and security teams in an Agile delivery cadence. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. 7 years of relevant technical experience, including hands-on Salesforce development. Salesforce Certified Administrator. Salesforce Certified Platform Developer I & III Ability to obtain and maintain a government background investigation. Working familiarity with Salesforce CLI, VS Code with Salesforce extensions, Developer Console, and scratch orgs. GitLab and DevSecOps pipeline experience. ServiceNow, Jira, and Confluence. Prior federal or public sector delivery experience. PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS The team operates against contract service levels for acknowledgement, resolution, root cause analysis, and security incident response. Specific targets are reviewed during onboarding. WORK LOCATION Primarily remote within the contiguous United States. Occasional on-site support at customer facilities may be required, along with limited off-hours availability for releases, outages, and critical incidents.
