ABOUT OUR ORGANISATION

Export Finance Australia (EFA) is Australia’s export credit agency. For almost 70 years, Export Finance Australia has helped Australian businesses grow and succeed internationally with finance to secure opportunities, expand into new markets and diversify their presence. We support critical minerals and defence sectors, finance projects that strengthen economic resilience and advance net zero, and back Australian investment in sustainable infrastructure.

Working with banks, other Government agencies and international partners, we back Australia’s exporters, supply chain businesses and industries, contributing to a more stable and prosperous Indo-Pacific while advancing Australia’s trade, investment and economic security objectives.

Due to continued growth and current transformation, we are now seeking a Senior Salesforce Developer to join or team. The Senior Salesforce Developer is responsible for the design, development, integration and ongoing enhancement of the organisation’s Salesforce platform. The role delivers secure, scalable and supportable solutions that meet business needs, improve customer and operational outcomes, and align with the agreed enterprise and solution architecture. Working closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Architects, Information Security, delivery teams and external partners, the role provides hands-on technical leadership across the full software development lifecycle.

THE ROLE

Location: Sydney

Role Type: Full-time, Permanent

  • Design, build and maintain secure, scalable Salesforce solutions using Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Salesforce Flow and other appropriate declarative capabilities, in line with agreed architecture and platform standards.
  • Lead the technical delivery of complex Salesforce initiatives, including solution design, estimation, development, integration, testing, deployment and production support.
  • Make sound build-versus-configure decisions, considering maintainability, platform limits, total cost of ownership and the appropriate use of AppExchange or third-party products.
  • Design and implement reliable integrations with external systems using REST and SOAP APIs, event-driven patterns, middleware and Azure Integration services, with appropriate authentication, error handling, monitoring and retry controls.
  • Own code quality through peer reviews, coding standards, static analysis, automated testing and adherence to Salesforce security and performance best practices.
  • Define and continuously improve source-control and release-management practices, including branching, Salesforce DX, CI/CD pipelines, environment management and deployment controls.
  • Ensure platform stability and performance by diagnosing complex incidents, resolving root causes, monitoring technical health and proactively managing technical debt and platform risks.
  • Apply secure-by-design principles across data access, sharing, permissions, integration credentials and sensitive information, working with Architecture, Information Security, Privacy and Risk stakeholders as required.
  • Plan and oversee unit, integration, regression and performance testing, and provide timely technical support for system integration testing and user acceptance testing.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to developers and delivery partners, promoting knowledge sharing, consistent engineering practices and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain high-quality technical documentation, including solution designs, data models, interface specifications, deployment procedures, support guidance and architecture decisions.
  • Participate in Agile delivery activities and communicate technical options, dependencies, risks and progress clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • At least 5 years of hands-on Salesforce development experience, including delivery of complex solutions in enterprise environments.
  • Demonstrated experience with Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud and core Salesforce platform capabilities
  • Strong proficiency in Apex, SOQL, SOSL, Lightning Web Components and Salesforce configuration, including Flow, validation rules and data security controls.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Salesforce governor limits, bulkification, asynchronous processing, transaction management, platform events and scalable integration patterns.
  • Experience integrating Salesforce with external systems using REST or SOAP APIs, middleware and cloud services; experience with Microsoft Azure integration services is advantageous.
  • Practical experience with Salesforce DX, Git-based source control, CI/CD pipelines, automated deployments and release management across multiple environments.
  • Experience designing Salesforce data models and implementing access controls using permission sets, permission set groups, roles, sharing rules and related security capabilities.
  • Experience with automated testing, test-data management, code review, troubleshooting and production support, with a strong focus on reliability and maintainability.
  • Proven ability to lead technical delivery, mentor developers and influence solution decisions across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience working in Agile delivery environments and using work-management tools such as Azure DevOps or Jira.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, work independently and deliver high-quality outcomes within agreed timeframes.
  • Accountable, collaborative and outcomes focused with strong attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working through ambiguity and making evidence-based technical decisions.
  • Proactive in identifying risks, improving engineering practices and sharing knowledge.
  • Degree qualified with additional Salesforce certifications such as Platform Developer I, Platform Developer II, JavaScript Developer I, Application Architect or System Architect.
