Overview of Role
Fishtank Learning is seeking a full-time Senior School Partnerships Manager to drive sales and partnerships across its New York City & Tri-State Area. In this full-cycle sales and account management role, the Senior Manager will build and expand relationships with medium and large K–12 districts adopting or evaluating Fishtank’s ELA and Math curriculum, guide them from first conversation through pilot to a signed partnership, and remain their primary account owner through renewal. This role is a senior member of the School Partnerships team and will collaborate closely with the Director of School Partnerships, Managing Director of Implementation Support, and Managing Director of Growth to drive new business, deepen partner engagement, and set partners up for successful implementation.
The Senior Manager will manage a portfolio of high-priority school and district partners and lead curriculum pilots as part of a sales cycle that can run 1–2 years. Once a partnership is signed, Fishtank’s Implementation team leads implementation support and professional learning; the Senior Manager remains the relationship owner, partnering closely with Implementation, supporting in-person professional learning for their accounts, and driving renewal and expansion.
This role requires strong relationship-building skills, a consultative sales mindset, and the ability to confidently engage district leaders, respond to complex partner needs, and independently manage large-scale partnerships.
The ideal candidate brings experience in K–12 education (as a teacher, coach, or school leader), along with demonstrated success in sales, partnership growth, account management, or similar external-facing roles. They are a proactive communicator, strategic thinker, and adaptable problem-solver who thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment. This role reports to the Director of School Partnerships and requires regular travel, averaging 1–2 days per week in the field meeting with school and district partners. During the first year, the majority of this time will be spent in New York City, supporting a small number of large district partners, with the portfolio expanding across the territory over time.
