Description

About the Company

ARC is a rapid-growth enterprise technology company. Since launching in late 2021 to serve frontline workers, ARC has become a category-defining device management solution and trusted partner to some of the world’s largest enterprises, including Walmart, lululemon, Gap, ShipBob, and several global leaders in supply chain and logistics. ARC was born out of ChargeItSpot, the consumer-facing tech company that pioneered phone charging solutions starting in 2012.

Through smart lockers integrated with proprietary software, ARC stores, secures, and charges the company-owned handheld devices (made by Zebra, Honeywell, and others) that frontline workers rely on every day for package scanning, inventory lookup,

task management, mobile point of sale, and more.

Clients turn to ARC because managing and maintaining enterprise mobile devices post-purchase is harder than it looks. Devices go missing (~25% annually), stop working, or run out of power, costing payroll time, money, and productivity. ARC virtually eliminates

these issues, ensuring devices are functional, charged, and accounted for – while improving productivity and experience for teams on the ground.

Market demand for ARC has been overwhelming. Device management has been a massive unmet need for decades, and ARC – backed by a decade of technical expertise and a homegrown patent portfolio – is uniquely positioned to solve it.

ARC’s Mission

Minimize Device Waste. Maximize Worker Productivity. Make Life Easier.

ARC’s Vision

Be the unrivaled leader in physical device management. With more than 25,000 ARC units deployed by 2030, ARC will simplify life for more than 1,000,000 workers every day.

About the Team

At ARC, we surround ourselves with independent thinkers who are detail-oriented, and customer-obsessed. Our clients have routinely called us “the most talented team they’ve ever worked with.” We value determination, resourcefulness, imagination, and follow-through. We want people who are ready to get things done.

Our focus is fierce, but it’s not all hard work. We take time to get to know each other through a daily game of Jeopardy, meals together, and nights out for karaoke. We operate a hybrid work model, with most team members working in the office a couple of days a week, and the rest remotely.

Our Core Values

  • We do what we say we will do.
  • Details matter. A lot.
  • Bias for action.
  • Customer obsession.
  • Diversity and authenticity.
  • No ego. Only outcome.
  • Think big.

Requirements

We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Senior SDET to own quality assurance engineering for our kiosk system across physical hardware, software integrations, client configurations, and releases.

This is a hybrid, individual contributor role with technical leadership responsibilities, focused on manual and exploratory testing and test automation.

You will drive test strategy, lead UAT and release validation, investigate complex hardware/software defects, and mentor junior QA engineers while remaining actively involved in hands-on kiosk testing.

Key Responsibilities

Manual Testing, Quality Ownership & Release Validation

  • Own and execute risk-based manual, exploratory, functional, regression, and integration testing across critical kiosk workflows.
  • Define and maintain test coverage across hardware variants, client configurations, and application releases.
  • Perform hands-on testing of device pickup, return, activation/deactivation, locker management, scanner operations, and out-of-service/recovery flows.
  • Validate hardware-software interactions, including device detection, door sensors, connectivity interruptions, timeouts, and failure recovery.
  • Independently investigate and isolate complex defects across UI, backend services, hardware, network, and test environments.
  • Design, review, and maintain manual test suites, test data, and release-validation checklists.
  • Lead UAT and release validation, including risk-based test planning, execution coordination, and coverage assessment.
  • Evaluate outstanding defects, communicate release risks, and provide QA go/no-go recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Verify defect fixes, assess regression impact, and collaborate with Development and Product to prevent recurring issues.
  • Ensure physical kiosk hardware and test environments are ready for scheduled testing and releases.

Test Automation

  • Execute, analyze, and maintain existing Cypress/TypeScript UI and API automated tests.
  • Investigate automation failures and differentiate product defects from test instability or environment issues.
  • Identify high-value automation opportunities and collaborate with the automation team to address regression coverage gaps.
  • Monitor CI pipelines and ensure automated regression results are considered during release readiness assessments.

Technical Leadership & Mentoring

  • Mentor associate and mid-level QA engineers in test design, exploratory testing, and defect investigation.
  • Review test cases and defect reports to establish consistent quality standards.
  • Partner with Development, Product, and QA teams to improve testability, identify risks early, and promote continuous improvement.
  • Advocate for driving best practices across the team
  • AI-Native approach towards Quality Engineering

Qualifications

  • 8-10+ years in software QA, including independent ownership of release validation or UAT for complex systems
  • Prior experience in a Product based company
  • Depth in exploratory, integration, regression, and risk-based testing
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot hardware/software integration issues end to end, using Linux log analysis, SQL, and browser dev tools
  • Experience testing IoT, kiosk, POS, or similarly hardware-integrated systems
  • REST API testing (Postman or similar) with solid JSON and HTTP fundamentals
  • Working PostgreSQL knowledge — enough to query and validate device, locker, and checkout data directly
  • Hands-on experience with Cypress/TypeScript or comparable automation tooling, plus Git and CI/CD pipelines
  • Jira and a test-management tool (Xray, Zephyr, TestRail)
  • Ability to define test strategy, evaluate release readiness, mentor engineers, and communicate risk clearly to engineering and product

Preferred Qualifications

  • GitLab CI, Allure, Docker, Testcontainers, or containerized test environments
  • OpenAPI specifications and API contract testing
  • Kubernetes, Helm, ArgoCD, or edge deployments
  • Prior QA lead or release coordination experience

The Candidate

You think several steps ahead. You are relentless, strategic, and a long-term thinker. You believe the details are important and so you get them right. You are a fast learner. You take feedback well and implement it. You care about getting to the best outcome, and do not focus on being right or wrong.

Location

We are headquartered in Philadelphia, PA and the team operates in East Coast business hours. This is a hybrid position. Candidates are expected to work onsite for the first 90 days, then 2-3 days/week in the office.

Benefits

  • Health, dental and vision insurance
  • Health Care FSA
  • 401k plan with matching company contributions
  • Paid time off
  • Hybrid work environment
