McCready Law is seeking an experienced Senior Settlement Specialist to join our Settlement Department. This role is ideal for someone with strong personal injury experience who is highly skilled in lien resolution, settlement review, and post settlement case management.
The Senior Settlement Specialist manages complex personal injury matters from lien identification through final disbursement. This position handles advanced lien issues, negotiates reductions, ensures financial accuracy, and serves as a senior resource for settlement workflows and best practices. The role requires a high level of independence, attention to detail, and confidence handling complex settlement matters.
What You’ll Do
- Manage complex settlement files from settlement through final distribution
- Handle advanced lien identification and resolution involving medical providers, Medicare, Medicaid, ERISA, and subrogation claims
- Independently negotiate lien reductions with providers, insurance carriers, and government entities
- Prepare and review settlement statements and disbursement documentation for accuracy
- Audit settlement files for financial accuracy and compliance before funds are released
- Draft advanced lien and settlement correspondence
- Maintain detailed, audit-ready documentation of negotiations and lien outcomes
- Partner closely with attorneys on difficult lien negotiations and settlement issues
- Serve as a senior resource to other Settlement team members on complex files
- Provide informal mentoring and workflow guidance to developing team members
- Assist with onboarding and training reinforcement when needed
- Identify recurring lien issues and opportunities to improve processes
- Communicate settlement and lien status to attorneys, clients, providers, and other third parties
- Stay current on lien requirements, reimbursement rules, and regulatory changes
- Support settlement procedures, best practices, and general department operations
What We’re Looking For
- 4 to 7 years of personal injury experience
- At least 3 years of concentrated settlement and lien resolution experience
- Demonstrated experience handling complex and government liens
- Strong financial accuracy and settlement math skills
- Advanced negotiation skills
- Ability to independently manage complex settlement matters
- Strong organization, follow-through, and documentation practices
- Proficiency with Excel and legal case management systems
- Bilingual English and Spanish is a plus
