Senior Simulation Engineer

Senior Simulation Engineer | Bristol (Hybrid) | Up to £72,500

I’m working with a specialist engineering company in Bristol. They’re looking for a Senior Simulation Engineer to lead technical work and help develop their next generation of engineers.

Their work spans both commercial and defence clients. It’s a smaller business, so you’ll have real ownership and a direct say in technical direction.

What you’ll do

• Lead the development of system and vehicle-level models, covering both the plant and the control algorithms
• Define modelling approaches, requirements and verification strategies
• Own the delivery of work packages
• Present results to internal teams and customers
• Mentor junior engineers and help plan and prioritise the team’s work

What you’ll need

• Strong hands-on experience building dynamic system models in MATLAB/Simulink
• A good understanding of control systems, vehicle dynamics and multi-domain simulation
• Experience with version control and working in collaborative engineering teams
• Confidence guiding and mentoring others
• A degree in engineering, maths or similar (or equivalent experience)

Nice to have

• Kalman filtering or state estimation
• Real-time modelling, auto-code generation or C/C++
• Experience in aerospace, marine, robotics or automotive (other complex engineering sectors are welcome too)

The package

• Up to £72,500 depending on experience
• Permanent or fixed-term contract
• Hybrid working from Bristol
• A mix of commercial and defence projects
