Senior Site Reliability Engineer

SRE Tech Lead : Tech for Good : Fully remote : Up to £100k

We're working with a tech for good company building software that makes a genuine difference to the people who use it. They're growing their Site Reliability team and looking for an SRE Tech Lead to take ownership of system and solution design as the platform scales.

As SRE Tech Lead, you'll blend deep technical expertise with leadership, mentoring engineers, embedding a culture of quality and reliability, and guiding the team through sound technical decisions on systems that need to stay robust, scalable and secure.

Responsibilities:

• Shape how the architecture evolves, weighing up speed against scalability, maintainability and security as the platform grows
• Keep a close eye on reliability, using observability and SLOs to catch problems early and leading the digging in when something does go wrong
• Push automation forward wherever it saves the team time, and hold the line on coding quality and production readiness
• Size up new work realistically, plan releases with the team, then back that up with hands on mentoring as people deliver it
• Bridge the gap between engineering and the wider business, making sure Product and Engineering Managers always understand the technical picture

Technical requirements:

• Extensive SRE, DevOps or Platform Engineering experience on complex, scalable systems, backed by strong AWS and distributed cloud architecture skills.
• Proven experience running high scale platforms, with advanced Terraform skills.
• Strong Python or Go, with understanding of distributed systems and microservices.
• Hands on with Docker, Kubernetes and ECS, plus observability tooling like DataDog or Prometheus.
• A track record of mentoring and developing engineers, not just managing tickets.
