JLL empowers you to shape a brighter way.
Our people at JLL are shaping the future of real estate for a better world by combining world class services, advisory and technology for our clients. We are committed to hiring the best, most talented people and empowering them to thrive, grow meaningful careers and to find a place where they belong. Whether you’ve got deep experience in commercial real estate, skilled trades or technology, or you’re looking to apply your relevant experience to a new industry, join our team as we help shape a brighter way forward.
What this job involves:
As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer on JLL’s Technical Engineering team for corporate functions, you will serve as a trusted technical authority for the PeopleSoft FSCM 9.2 environment that underpins finance operations across our global business. You will bring deep expertise in PeopleSoft development, functionality, and backend administration, along with strong automation skills, including server-level scripting and Python, to design, implement, and maintain reliable, scalable, and performant platforms. Working alongside Product Management, Production Support, and Engineering teams, you will independently solve medium to high complexity PeopleSoft infrastructure problems and translate financial close and business continuity needs into clear technical reliability requirements. You will also help shape how our ERP environments evolve on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) using Oracle Database, Oracle GoldenGate, and Oracle-native GenAI services, in support of JLL’s Accelerate 2030 priorities of platform excellence and outpacing through data and AI. You will lead incident response, take ownership of reliability improvements with limited oversight, and act as an informal coach who shares knowledge with less experienced colleagues. This role includes on-call support, primarily covering the Americas, and administrative activities performed over weekends in close collaboration with fellow PeopleSoft and OCI administrators. What sets JLL apart is our culture of collaboration, locally and across the globe, and we believe the most effective teams are built when everyone is empowered to thrive.
What your day-to-day will look like:
- Design and implement resilient, scalable solutions for complex PeopleSoft infrastructure, and evaluate the designs of integrations with other applications using reliability engineering methodologies
- Perform PeopleSoft backend administration, including application server and web server management, patching, tools upgrades, and environment refreshes
- Lead incident response through to root cause analysis and long-term remediation, using metrics and multiple sources of insight to resolve medium to high complexity issues
- Participate in an on-call rotation, primarily covering the Americas, and partner with other PeopleSoft and OCI administrators to plan and support weekend administrative activities and maintenance windows
- Protect financial close and month-end processing by building reliability, performance, and recovery safeguards for critical PeopleSoft workloads
- Build server-level scripts and Python automation, and strengthen monitoring, alerting, and observability so that operational effort is reduced and reliability improves
- Contribute to the architecture and optimization of PeopleSoft workloads on OCI, including Oracle Database and Oracle GoldenGate for change data capture (CDC) and replication, and apply Oracle-native GenAI services to monitoring, automation, and operational insight
- Lead medium-sized reliability projects with manageable risks, define and track service level objectives, and recommend best practices to improve operational processes
- Coach less experienced colleagues through troubleshooting and knowledge-sharing sessions, while working with Product, Production Support, application, security, and infrastructure teams to uphold change management, audit and SOX compliance, and disaster recovery standards
Required qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience in PeopleSoft development, functionality, and backend administration, ideally with PeopleSoft FSCM 9.2, including PeopleTools three-tier architecture, application server and web server configuration (WebLogic or Oracle HTTP Server/Tuxedo), Process Scheduler administration, and Integration Broker troubleshooting
- Proven experience independently performing PeopleTools installations, upgrades, patching, and PeopleSoft Update Manager (PUM) image application, along with PeopleTools security administration and environment refresh, cloning, and data masking
- Demonstrated ability to tune application server domains, JVM and web server parameters, and cache settings, and to diagnose performance issues using SQL, AppServer, and PeopleCode traces and PeopleSoft-specific or third-party monitoring tools
- Strong automation skills in server-level scripting (Unix/Linux shell or PowerShell) and Python, with familiarity applying Oracle-native GenAI services to operational solutions
- Working knowledge of Oracle Database structures as they relate to PeopleSoft, including table and index design, tablespace management, and Application Designer, and exposure to Oracle GoldenGate for replication
- 3+ years of experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), including compute shapes, networking fundamentals (VCN, subnets, NSGs, load balancers), and interpreting OCI Monitoring and Logging output to correlate infrastructure alerts with application symptoms
- Demonstrated ability to perform root cause analysis across database, application server, and network tiers, and to solve medium to high complexity problems independently and under pressure
- Ability to work on-call, primarily covering Americas hours, and to support weekend administrative activities as needed
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain difficult operational concepts, build consensus, and collaborate with distributed teams
Preferred qualifications:
- Exposure to Oracle Autonomous Database, including its AI features, and to the Oracle AI Data Platform
- Exposure to disaster recovery configurations on OCI, including failover mechanics and their impact on PeopleSoft maintenance windows, and experience with load balancing and failover across application server domains
- Experience collaborating with cloud infrastructure teams on capacity planning, resource scaling, and incident escalation, with familiarity with OCI IAM policies, compartments, and groups
- Practical understanding of how OCI compute, storage, and database choices affect cost, enabling informed participation in capacity planning for peak processing periods
- Experience automating health checks, log rotation, or batch job scheduling beyond basic scripting, and exposure to infrastructure-as-code or configuration management tools (Terraform, Ansible), observability platforms, DevSecOps, or CI/CD practices
- Experience supporting a global ERP instance across multiple regions and time zones, including financial close and month-end support, and operating within audit and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls for finance systems
- Experience applying site reliability engineering practices such as SLOs, error budgets, and blameless postmortems, leading medium-sized projects, and acting as an informal coach or mentor to colleagues
- PeopleSoft or Oracle certifications, including OCI certifications, and experience introducing automation or GenAI capabilities into enterprise finance technology operations, with a curiosity for innovation and a willingness to embrace more innovative ways of working
