About the opportunity
Join QIAGEN and help us shape the next generation of life science and diagnostic solutions with skill and passion. You will work with our system and software teams to develop instrument control and data analysis software for laboratory devices helping our customers to get valuable insights from a biological sample. In your role as a Senior Software Architect (f/m/d) you will be making improvements in life possible – every working day.
Your tasks include
- Translate our product vision into efficient, safe, secure, and future-proof software that truly meets our customers' needs.
- Derive the best possible overall solution for our products in a complex environment of Biology, Chemistry, Mechanics, Electronics and Software.
- Ensure a high level of quality and consistent user experience across our products and their subsystems.
- Conduct threat modeling, risk assessments, and vulnerability analyses of our products and develop technical security controls to ensure secure software development.
- Collaborate with international development teams in Poland, Spain, and Denmark to strengthen and refine your technical capabilities and personal network..
Your profile
- Hold a master’s degree in computer science, information systems, electrical engineering, medical engineering, or a related discipline.
- Bring extensive experience in embedded software development, software architecture, software design, and complex software systems.
- Have at least 5 years of professional experience in software and product development, including the successful delivery of complex software solutions in agile environments. Knowledge of cloud components, software supporting interconnected workflows, and high-availability systems is a plus.
- Worked in regulated environments in the medical device industry and acquired in depth knowledge on relevant cybersecurity standards and regulatory requirements.
- Have a solid background in threat modeling, security risk management, and vulnerability analysis to facility the development of secure software systems.
- Have served as lead technical architect and feel comfortable guiding project teams to excellent technical solutions.
- Communicate fluently in both, English (C1 level) and German.
