Senior Software Developer

Job Summary The Senior Software Developer is responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining scalable software applications and technology solutions that support Dermorepubliq’s business and operational requirements. The role serves as the technical lead and immediate supervisor of the Junior Software Developer(s), providing day-to-day direction, technical guidance, work allocation, code review, coaching, and performance support while ensuring that development activities are completed according to agreed requirements, timelines, technical standards, and security practices. The Senior Software Developer leads technical activities throughout the software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, solution architecture, development, testing, deployment, integration, optimization, and application maintenance. The role will also support the development and implementation of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning-enabled solutions, including Large Language Model integration, Retrieval-Augmented Generation, AI agents, model evaluation, fine-tuning, and AI-powered automation. Key Responsibilities Software Development Design, develop, and maintain web, desktop, mobile, and enterprise applications based on business requirements. Write clean, efficient, secure, and well-documented code following development standards and best practices. Lead and participate in all stages of the software development lifecycle (SDLC): requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, maintenance, and continuous improvement. Artificial Intelligence & Automation Design and develop AI-enabled applications and features using Large Language Models (LLMs), AI APIs, and related technologies. Develop solutions using Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), AI agents, prompt engineering, embeddings, and vector databases. Perform model evaluation, fine-tuning, and optimization where appropriate. Identify and implement AI and automation opportunities to improve business processes and operational efficiency. System Integration & Maintenance Design, develop, and integrate APIs, third-party services, databases, and enterprise systems. Perform advanced debugging, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and performance optimization of existing applications. Maintain version control and support CI/CD, deployment, and cloud-based development using tools such as Git, GitHub, or Azure DevOps. Team Supervision & Technical Leadership Directly supervise Junior Software Developer(s) and provide day-to-day technical guidance and support. Assign and prioritize development tasks, monitor progress, and ensure timely and quality delivery of assigned projects. Conduct code reviews and provide coaching, mentoring, and technical feedback to Junior Software Developer(s). Establish and promote coding standards, development practices, documentation requirements, and software quality standards. Collaboration & Documentation Work closely with the IT Supervisor, IT team, business users, and cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver appropriate technology solutions. Document technical specifications, system architecture, workflows, APIs, database structures, and deployment procedures. Support UAT, pilot testing, deployment, system turnover, and knowledge transfer activities. Innovation & Continuous Improvement Research and recommend emerging technologies, development frameworks, AI solutions, and tools that can improve efficiency and software quality. Identify opportunities to modernize, automate, integrate, or enhance existing systems. Conduct proof-of-concepts and technical evaluations before recommending new technologies for production use. Ensure solutions balance innovation with security, scalability, reliability, maintainability, and business value. Qualifications Education Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field. Experience Minimum of 5 years of professional software development experience, preferably involving enterprise or business applications. Demonstrated experience independently designing, developing, testing, deploying, and maintaining production applications. Experience working across multiple stages of the Software Development Lifecycle. Demonstrated experience leading or supervising software developers, including task delegation, code review, coaching, and delivery monitoring. Experience designing or contributing to application and system architecture. Experience developing applications using two or more programming languages or technology stacks such as: C# .NET JavaScript TypeScript Python PHP Java Hands-on experience with APIs, system integrations, databases, version control, and deployment processes. Experience developing or integrating AI, Machine Learning, or Generative AI applications is preferred. Skills and Competencies Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of software engineering principles, application architecture, object-oriented programming, design patterns, and secure development practices. Proficient in modern front-end and back-end technologies such as React, Angular, Vue.js, .NET, Node.js, Python, Django/FastAPI, or Laravel. Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs, web services, system integrations, authentication, and authorization. Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MySQL, or MongoDB, including database design and performance optimization. Working knowledge of Generative AI, Large Language Models, prompt engineering, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), embeddings, vector databases, AI agents, model evaluation, and fine-tuning . Familiarity with AI platforms and frameworks such as OpenAI/Azure OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, Hugging Face, PyTorch, TensorFlow, LangChain, or equivalent technologies. Experience with Git-based version control, CI/CD pipelines, cloud platforms, and deployment tools such as Docker. Understanding of application security, data privacy, API security, access controls, encryption, and secure coding practices. Experience with RAG, vector databases, AI agents, model fine-tuning, AI evaluation, guardrails, and monitoring. Experience with cloud-native architecture, Docker, Kubernetes, microservices, or event-driven systems. Experience with Power Platform technologies such as Power Automate, Power Apps, Power BI, or SharePoint. Experience integrating enterprise systems such as ERP, e-commerce, HRIS, LMS, financial, or operational platforms. Familiarity with automated testing frameworks and test-driven development is an advantage. Work Environment The Senior Software Developer position operates in both office and remote environments. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams through virtual meetings and on-site coordination as needed. Occasional travel between DermaRepubliq office locations may be required to support software deployment, user training, or system maintenance, ensuring consistent delivery and performance of applications across all sites.
