Senior Software Developer (Backend / Frontend / Fullstack)

Cyber Instincts is a Gothenburg-based consultancy helping organizations build digital resilience across IT, OT, and automotive environments. Within Cyber Instincts, we’re expanding beyond cybersecurity into software development. We work with clients across automotive, manufacturing, banking and finance, retail, and healthcare, many of them modernizing legacy systems, building new digital services, and facing higher demands on security and quality in everything they ship. What the work may look like:

• Designing, building, and maintaining backend services, APIs, and integrations

• Developing modern, responsive frontends and user-facing applications

• Modernizing legacy systems and migrating applications to the cloud

• Writing clean, tested, and well-documented code as part of agile teams

• Applying secure coding practices and working with security teams to reduce vulnerabilities

• Contributing to architecture decisions, code reviews, and technical improvements

• Working with CI/CD pipelines, containers, and cloud environments

What you’ll bring:

• 5+ years of professional experience in software development

• Strong skills in at least one backend language such as Java, C#/.NET, Python, Go, or Node.js, and/or a modern frontend framework such as React, Angular, or Vue

• Experience building and integrating REST or GraphQL APIs

• Experience with at least one major cloud platform (Azure, AWS, or GCP)

• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)

• Fluent English, spoken and written

A plus, not a requirement:

• Swedish language skills

• Knowledge of secure development practices (e.g. OWASP Top 10, threat modeling)

• Experience with embedded or automotive software (e.g. C/C++, AUTOSAR)

• Experience from regulated industries such as banking, healthcare, or the public sector

• Previous consulting experience

This is a Sweden-based role with hybrid or on-site placements at client sites across the country. Applicants must currently reside in Sweden. You’ll be employed or engaged on a freelance basis and placed directly with our clients for the duration of each engagement.
