Hiring: Senior Software Engineer — AI/ML & Full Stack

Koveret is building a SaaS platform for service businesses. We’re looking for a hands-on Senior Software Engineer who can take ownership of complex work across our PHP/Laravel platform, modern web applications, AI features, and cloud infrastructure.

The right person can take a problem from idea to production: understand the requirements, design a sound solution, build it, deploy it, and keep it working. You should be comfortable using modern AI tools while applying your own engineering judgment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Own features from technical design through development, testing, deployment, and production support.
• Build and improve applications, APIs, background jobs, and integrations using PHP and Laravel.
• Design scalable architecture for a multi-tenant SaaS platform, with attention to security, data integrity, performance, and maintainability.
• Work across the stack with React, Next.js, Node.js, Python, and Django as projects require.
• Design and build AI agents and agentic workflows that can use tools, access relevant data, and complete useful tasks with appropriate controls and monitoring.
• Build AI features using LLM APIs, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), LangChain, and LangGraph.
• Use Model Context Protocol (MCP) tools and servers to connect AI assistants with applications, data, and development workflows.
• Use AI development tools such as Claude for research, development, debugging, and automation; review and validate AI-generated work before it reaches production.
• Write effective prompts and evaluate AI outputs for accuracy, reliability, and practical value.
• Design REST APIs and integrate third-party services.
• Improve database queries, application performance, logging, monitoring, and incident response.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automated checks, and reliable deployment workflows.
• Configure and manage applications and cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud and/or AWS using sound DevOps practices.
• Review code, resolve complex issues, and help raise engineering standards across the team.
• Communicate progress, risks, and technical decisions clearly while collaborating during New York business hours.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of professional software engineering experience; candidates with 3–8 years are especially encouraged to apply.
• Strong, hands-on PHP/Laravel experience is required.
• Experience building and maintaining production applications, APIs, and databases.
• Practical experience with AI development tools and LLM APIs, including AI agents, Claude, MCP, RAG, LangChain, or LangGraph.
• Experience with DevOps, CI/CD, cloud deployments, and production troubleshooting.
• Strong understanding of system architecture and the ability to make sound technical decisions.
• Working knowledge of React, Next.js, Node.js, Python/Django, automation, and Google Cloud or AWS.
• Ability to write clear prompts, evaluate AI-generated output, and solve problems independently.
• Strong ownership, professional work habits, and clear communication. You should be able to move work forward without constant supervision and know when to raise a blocker.
• Availability to work and collaborate during New York business hours (Eastern Time).

This position is intended for experienced software engineering professionals. Students and candidates with less than 3 years of professional software engineering experience will not be considered.
