Senior Software Engineer
Full-time
Twisthink is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to design and build custom software solutions across a variety of domains, including backend systems, data platforms, connected applications, and AI-enabled products. This role provides technical leadership throughout the design, implementation, and launch of scalable, maintainable, and resilient software solutions.
The ideal candidate has experience delivering complex software systems, enjoys solving challenging problems, and is comfortable learning new technologies and domains. You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and clients to translate business needs into technical solutions and deliver high-quality software. You’ll also help us continue evolving how we use AI development tools and agents to improve the way software is designed, built, tested, and maintained.
What You’ll Accomplish:
- Design and deliver custom software solutions spanning backend services, APIs, applications, data platforms, and cloud-connected systems.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of data platforms, data pipelines, integrations, and application architectures that support analytics and intelligent software solutions.
- Work across programming languages, frameworks, and cloud technologies based on project needs, becoming effective with unfamiliar technologies when needed.
- Collaborate with clients, architects, designers, and engineers to define technical approaches that align with business goals and user needs.
- Use AI development tools and agents throughout the software development lifecycle to improve engineering productivity, quality, and delivery speed.
- Explore emerging AI models, tools, and development practices and help determine how they can be applied effectively across our engineering teams.
- Provide technical direction while advocating for sound engineering practices in software architecture, testing, security, observability, DevOps, and maintainability.
- Foster a culture of learning, collaboration, experimentation, and continuous improvement.
Keys to Success:
- 7+ years of experience in full life-cycle software development, with experience designing, delivering, and supporting production software systems.
- Demonstrated experience using AI development tools or agents to plan, build, test, and deliver meaningful engineering work, with an interest in continuing to explore new models, tools, and approaches.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals and proficiency in one or more modern programming languages. Experience with C#/.NET, Python, Java, TypeScript, or similar technologies is valuable, but exact stack alignment is not required.
- Experience with modern cloud platforms and development workflows, including source control, code review, and CI/CD pipelines. Our teams primarily work with Azure and AWS, but experience with other cloud platforms is also valuable.
- Experience working with data-intensive systems, including areas such as data modeling, SQL, data pipelines, integrations, event-driven systems, analytics, or data platforms.
- Proven ability to lead technical discussions, learn unfamiliar technologies and domains, and collaborate directly with clients and stakeholders.
- Familiarity with modern engineering practices including automated testing, observability, infrastructure-as-code, security, and maintainable system design.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a self-directed approach to learning, problem solving, technical leadership, and helping others succeed.
- Experience designing, integrating, or implementing LLM-based, agentic, or other AI-enabled software solutions is a plus.
