How you'll make an impact:
At Cin7, we are transforming the way businesses manage inventory, sales, and operations to make it cheaper, faster, and easier for businesses all over the world to get their products into their customers' hands.
We're looking for a highly experienced full stack Senior Software Engineer who works AI-natively and can help push Cin7's engineering practices forward. This role is primarily focused on .NET development across different types of projects, including applications built with .NET Framework, .NET, and ASP.NET MVC, with frontend technologies, including JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
You'll operate as a senior technical advisor: designing and implementing high-quality .NET solutions, using AI tools and agents to accelerate your own development workflow, helping evaluate and build AI-powered capabilities into our product, mentoring other developers, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional software at a fast pace.
This position requires that you reside in Ahmedabad or Pune, India.
What you'll do:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams: Partner with product managers, designers, and developers to define requirements and deliver high-quality software solutions.
Maintain, design, and develop high-performance code: Maintain and develop our cloud-based SaaS inventory management software using .NET technologies, ensuring solutions meet business needs and follow best practices in software design and development.
Contribute to full-stack development: Work across application, database, and frontend layers when needed, including implementing API-driven features, writing and optimizing SQL queries, working with stored procedures and triggers, making UI updates, adjusting page layouts, working with forms, and applying styling using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Work AI-natively: Use AI coding assistants and agentic tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor) as a core part of your daily workflow — for code generation, refactoring, debugging, test writing, and code review — while maintaining full ownership and judgment over the resulting code.
Help build AI-powered features: Contribute to designing and implementing AI/LLM-powered capabilities within Cin7's product (e.g., integrating LLM APIs, working with retrieval or agentic workflows, evaluating model outputs for reliability), partnering with product on where AI can add real customer value.
Lead development initiatives: Take ownership of complex, ambiguous features and modules end-to-end, providing technical leadership, architectural direction, and mentoring to other developers.
Code reviews and quality assurance: Review code (human- and AI-generated) for consistency, quality, maintainability, performance, and adherence to coding standards, providing constructive feedback to peers.
Optimize performance and reliability: Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, security vulnerabilities, scalability concerns, and technical challenges to ensure optimal system performance in a cloud SaaS environment.
Champion testing and AI-assisted quality practices: Drive strong unit and integration testing practices, including using AI tools to help generate and maintain test coverage.
Adopt new technologies: Continuously evaluate and integrate emerging tools, frameworks, and AI-driven practices to enhance the development process and product quality.
Mentor and coach: Foster a culture of growth, quality, and effective AI-augmented development by providing guidance and technical mentorship to other developers, including how to use AI tools responsibly and effectively.
What you'll bring:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Minimum of 8+ years of hands-on software development experience, with deep specialization in .NET technologies, and a track record of senior/technical leadership on production systems.
Demonstrated, hands-on fluency with AI coding tools and agentic development workflows (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor, or similar) — not just occasional use, but genuine integration into daily engineering practice.
Practical experience using AI-powered coding assistants as part of everyday software development.
Expertise in integrating LLM APIs into an existing application.
Experience designing and implementing production-grade AI-powered functionality involving RAG, agentic workflows, and model output evaluation.
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to independently tackle and resolve complex, ambiguous technical challenges across backend, frontend, database, and application layers.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a collaborative approach to working in teams and mentoring others.
Core Technical Skills:
Strong proficiency in C# and .NET technologies, including deep experience with .NET Framework, .NET, ASP.NET MVC, web applications, and APIs.
Strong knowledge of software architecture principles and design patterns, with practical experience applying them to complex, real-world production systems.
Extensive experience with relational databases, such as SQL Server, including writing and optimizing SQL queries, working with stored procedures, triggers, indexes, and troubleshooting database performance issues.
Solid understanding of web fundamentals, including HTTP, REST APIs, request/response lifecycle, browser behavior, and client-server communication.
Working knowledge of JavaScript, including DOM manipulation, event handling, form validation, asynchronous calls, and working with API responses.
Solid understanding of HTML and CSS, including semantic markup, page structure, layout basics, responsive behavior, and styling existing UI components.
Ability and willingness to work with existing frontend code when needed.
Strong understanding of unit testing and integration testing principles, including how tests are written, structured, and maintained.
Experience with version control systems, such as Git.
Experience working in agile development environments.
It's a nice to have if you bring:
Experience working with LLM/AI APIs (e.g., Anthropic, OpenAI, Azure AI/Azure OpenAI Service) in a production SaaS context.
Experience working on cloud-based SaaS products, particularly on Microsoft Azure.
Experience improving performance, scalability, and reliability of production systems.
Familiarity with automated testing practices, CI/CD pipelines, and secure coding practices.
Experience mentoring engineers and shaping engineering best practices, including AI tool adoption.
