Overview:
Archer (RSA Archer) specific engineer responsible at the advanced level for writing code and the team's technical requirements gathering. Independently completes work following banking technology standards and contributes to the overall stability and resiliency of banking technology within the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
Primary Responsibilities:
- Strong hands-on experience with Archer (RSA Archer) platform development, configuration, and administration.
- Experience developing and maintaining Archer applications, fields, layouts, workflows, calculations, reports, dashboards, and data-driven events.
- Strong understanding of Archer Advanced Workflow and troubleshooting workflow/configuration issues.
- Experience with Archer integrations, including REST APIs, Web Services, Data Feeds, and integrations with external/enterprise systems.
- Strong knowledge of SQL for data analysis, troubleshooting, reporting, and supporting Archer integrations.
- Experience with PowerShell or other scripting/automation technologies for file processing, integrations, operational support, and process automation.
- Ability to troubleshoot production issues, analyze logs/errors, identify root causes, and work with infrastructure, security, and application support teams.
- Understanding of authentication, service accounts, certificates, secure file transmission, APIs, and enterprise security practices.
- Experience with source control and CI/CD practices, preferably Git/GitLab, for managing scripts, integration code, and deployment artifacts.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate business requirements into technical Archer solutions and work across business and technical teams.
- Experience designing, supporting, or integrating with an Archer Data Hub or centralized data repository used to make Archer data available for reporting, analytics, and downstream consumers.
- Strong data analytics and data management skills, including data profiling, mapping, transformation, validation, reconciliation, and investigation of data-quality issues.
- Experience managing inbound and outbound data pipelines using SQL, APIs, Data Feeds, data extracts, CSV files, secure file transfers, and scripting or automation technologies.
- Ability to define and maintain data dictionaries, field mappings, metadata, lineage, and traceability across Archer and integrated enterprise systems.
- Experience translating reporting and consumer requirements into reliable, governed datasets while supporting access controls, historical traceability, operational monitoring, and troubleshooting.
- Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
- Promote an environment that supports a culture of belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
- Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.

Education and Experience Required:
- Associate’s degree and a minimum of 5 years’ systems analysis and/ or application development work experience or Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 3 years’ systems analysis and/ or application development work experience. In lieu of degree, a combined minimum of 7 years’ education and/or relevant work experience, including a minimum of 3 years’ systems analysis and/or application development work experience
- Advanced proficiency in minimum of 1 relevant programming language.
Education and Experience Preferred:
- Experience with Microsoft Azure, particularly Azure Functions, Storage Accounts/Blob Storage, Managed Identities, Key Vault, and application integrations.
- Experience modernizing or migrating on-premises Archer integrations to Archer SaaS/cloud-based architectures.
- Familiarity with GitLab CI/CD or enterprise cloud deployment pipelines.
- Experience integrating Archer with platforms such as ServiceNow or other enterprise systems.
M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $97,100.00 - $161,800.00 Annual (USD). The successful candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
