Senior Software Engineer, Blockchain Protocols

The Protocols team delivers high-quality, low-latency blockchain datasets that serve as the trusted foundation for Chainalysis’ investigation, compliance, data and security products. We currently support more than 30 blockchains, translating on-chain data into actionable intelligence. In this role, you’ll: Architect and evolve scalable, reliable, and performant systems for ingesting and parsing complex blockchain data. Leverage AI-native engineering workflows (LLMs, automated agents) to increase team velocity and code quality. Provide blockchain protocol expertise (EVM, UTXO, etc.) to the team and cross-functional stakeholders. Manage the full software development lifecycle, including production monitoring, debugging, and maintaining reliability of our pipelines and services. Work closely with Product Managers to ensure our datasets meet the evolving needs of the crypto ecosystem. Guide junior and mid-level engineers through code reviews, design docs, and technical mentorship. We’re looking for candidates who have: 5+ years of experience building distributed systems or data-intensive applications. A bias to ship and the ability to iterate quickly in a fast-moving environment. Demonstrated ability to leverage AI assisted development tools to increase velocity while maintaining reliable, maintainable code. A deep understanding and experience of at least one Blockchain protocol You might also have: Knowledge and experience with non-EVM chains such as Solana, TON, and Sui. Experience with indexing and ETL at scale (Spark/Databricks). Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and managing services in Kubernetes. Contributions to open-source blockchain projects.
