About the role

Join DeLaval’s Access & Onboarding Operations (AOO) team and help us build secure, reliable, and scalable cloud solutions.

As a Backend Engineer, you will develop and maintain microservices while contributing to the modernization of our Identity and Access Management (IAM) platform. One of the key initiatives is the transition from our existing EIAC platform to a new solution provided by Ping Identity.

You will be involved throughout the development lifecycle – from designing and implementing backend features to test automation, code refactoring, and production deployments. This is an opportunity to influence technical solutions, collaborate with experienced engineers, and contribute to a strategic platform modernization project.

Your responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend microservices using Node.js and TypeScript.

• Contribute to the design and development of internal IAM services and support the migration to the new Ping Identity solution.

• Build cloud-native applications using AWS services, including Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, and EventBridge.

• Develop and maintain automated tests, including integration and end-to-end tests, to ensure high-quality and reliable solutions.

• Refactor existing code and modernize solutions in line with architectural and technical guidelines.

• Deploy and maintain applications in production, working within a continuous delivery environment.

• Collaborate with architects, SRE specialists, external partners, and vendors to deliver secure and reliable integrations.

• Participate in architectural discussions, technical demos, and brainstorming sessions.

• Share knowledge, contribute to technical decisions, and help maintain high engineering standards across the team.

What we are looking for

• At least 5 years of experience as a Backend or Full Stack Developer.

• Strong, recent hands-on experience with Node.js and TypeScript, as well as familiarity with another backend programming language, preferably Java or Python.

• Experience in test automation, including integration, end-to-end, and other relevant levels of the testing pyramid.

• Practical knowledge of testing tools such as Jest, Postman, and Playwright.

• Experience developing cloud-native applications and working with distributed, asynchronous systems.

• Understanding of CI/CD practices and continuous delivery workflows.

• Ability to collaborate effectively in small, agile, cross-functional teams, including through pair programming.

• A proactive mindset, openness to feedback, and willingness to share knowledge and learn from others.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to connect technical decisions with business needs.

• Fluency in both Polish and English, spoken and written.

Nice to have

• Experience with Customer Identity and Access Management (CIAM) systems and solutions, particularly designing and implementing IAM-related services.

• Familiarity with identity standards and technologies such as OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect (OIDC), JWT, or OPAL.

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools, particularly AWS CDK or Terraform.

• Familiarity with Kubernetes.

• Experience building and maintaining monitoring dashboards using the Grafana ecosystem, including Prometheus and Loki.
