In your role as Senior Software Engineer - Mobile (iOS) on the Ordering team, you will work on our consumer-facing applications end to end, from the cart through checkout and payment to order history. Your main platform is our iOS app, and you will design the interfaces between the app and our services together with the rest of the team.
The Ordering team owns the part of Flink where a basket becomes an order. Every order placed with Flink goes through the screens and services this team builds: cart, checkout, payments, delivery fees, vouchers, order creation and order history.
We work with coding agents every day. Our iOS repository ships its own agent instructions and skills, and we use agents to port features between iOS and Android and to review cross-platform changes. We are looking for an engineer who goes deep on iOS. Contribute across platforms, work on Android, and occasionally contribute to BFFs.
You will also:
- Build the Ordering Flow: Design, build and ship the cart, checkout, payment and order history experiences in our iOS app, using Swift and SwiftUI in a modular codebase built on Swift Package Manager. Move legacy checkout code forward as you touch it.
- Work End to End: Take features from prototype through technical design, implementation, release and production monitoring. You build it, you own it.
- Help More Customers Complete Their Order: Work on problems such as handling out-of-stock items in the cart without losing the basket, making payments with Apple Pay, PayPal and cards succeed more often, and showing fees, discounts and vouchers clearly before customers pay.
- Engineer with Agents: Use coding agents such as Claude Code for writing, testing, reviewing and porting code. Improve the agent instructions and skills in our repositories so the whole team gets better results.
- Raise the Quality Bar: Lead code reviews, write unit and UI tests (we use XCTest and Maestro), and keep our CI and release process healthy. Help your team get 1% better every day.
- Keep Checkout Reliable: A failure in checkout or payment stops customers from ordering. Instrument what you build, watch crashes, errors and payment failures in Datadog, help resolve production incidents, and fix issues at the root.
- Shape the Product: Work with your Product Manager, Designer and Analyst on what to build and why. Use experiments and data to decide, and speak up when you see a better option. At Flink, the best idea wins.
- Grow Others: Mentor engineers and share what works with agents across the Consumer domain.
- Protect Customer Data: Follow secure coding practices for payments and personal data, and fix vulnerabilities quickly.
We value quality of impact over years of tenure.
- Native mobile engineer: You have built and shipped consumer apps on iOS (Swift, SwiftUI) or Android (Kotlin, Jetpack Compose). iOS is preferred. Android engineers who want to grow into iOS are welcome too.
- Solid engineering foundation: You know mobile architecture, concurrency, networking and testing. You release apps safely through the App Store or Google Play, and you look after your features in production.
- Works with AI coding tools: You have used coding agents such as Claude Code, Cursor, Codex or GitHub Copilot, and you want them to be a central part of how you work. You know what to hand over to an agent, and you check the result before it ships.
Nice to Have
- Product mindset: You care about the customer outcome and use data, experiments and customer feedback to decide what to build.
- Checkout and payments experience: You have built cart, checkout or payment flows, for example with payment provider SDKs such as Adyen, or with Apple Pay.
- Work beyond iOS: It is a plus if you have worked on Android or backend code, or would like to when there is a need.
- Agent setup experience: You have written agent instructions, skills or tooling that other engineers use.
- Mobile observability and experimentation: You have used tools such as Datadog, Firebase Crashlytics, feature flags or A/B testing platforms.
