Verily’s Workbench solution provides a secure collaborative environment for data generators, research, and biopharma organizations to govern and analyze their data. Our software powers our customers in genomics research workflows, containerized AI development, and more.

As a Software Development Manager, you'll be instrumental in shaping the scope and direction of our technical initiatives. Tackle exciting challenges head-on, overseeing the development life cycle and ensuring seamless execution. Your leadership will drive innovation, foster collaboration, and deliver impactful solutions.. With so many critical and evolving areas, you'll be at the forefront of defining how researchers interact with and secure vast amounts of biomedical data, ensuring our platform remains a leading-edge solution.
Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, and expand a team of 8-10 software engineers.
- Drive project planning, execution, and delivery, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and technical excellence.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to define and execute on the team's strategic goals.
- Provide technical guidance and make critical decisions to meet project milestones.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- BA/BS degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3+ years of hands-on technical leadership and/or people management experience of a team of at least 5 software engineers.
- Proven experience managing software engineering teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated success in delivering complex software projects on time and within budget.
- Strong expertise in software development methodologies and best practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
- Education or exposure to healthcare or life sciences, with emphasis on HL7 FHIR or OMOP.
- Experience with cloud computing platforms such as GCP or AWS.
- Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD).
- Proven track record of building and leading high-performing engineering teams.
This role is eligible for Verily-sponsored immigration support.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $225,500 -$253,500 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
