About the Company

VERTX Talent connects vetted software engineers with technology companies for ongoing remote engagements. Engineers work directly with client teams day to day while contracting through VERTX Talent as independent B2B contractors.

Who should NOT apply

Please do not apply if you are:

• Applying on behalf of an agency, software house, consultancy, outsourcing company, staffing company or development studio
• An employee being supplied to Vertx through your employer
• Using an employer, manager, sales representative or third party to obtain work on your behalf
• Planning to subcontract any part of the engagement

• Intending for another engineer to attend interviews or perform work after you are selected
• Unable to contract with Vertx directly in your own capacity
• Bound by an employment agreement that prevents you from independently providing the services

Working remotely from a home office or co-working space is fine. What matters is that you are genuinely independent and that you personally perform the work.

We are currently expanding our network of experienced software engineers. This is for independent professionals only — not agencies, consultancies or third-party teams.

Responsibilities

• 5+ years of genuine hands-on software engineering experience
• Strong written and spoken communication
• Experience working independently inside professional engineering teams
• Evidence of software you personally designed, built or maintained
• Professional remote-working standards
• The ability to verify your own identity and technical work
• No subcontracting, proxy interviews, shared accounts or third-party submissions.

You do not necessarily need every technology listed. We are building a network across multiple engineering specialisms.

• Background and experience review
• Technical assessment based on your own work
• Live technical review with an experienced engineer
• Identity and compliance verification
• Admission to the Vertx Talent Network

We take vetting seriously because clients rely on Vertx to introduce engineers whose identity, technical capability and professional standards have already been assessed.

Preferred Skills

Successful engineers may be matched with relevant client opportunities based on skills, experience, availability and client requirements. Engagements are generally:

• Remote
• Independent contractor / B2B
• Ongoing rather than one-off gigs
• Paid monthly under the applicable Vertx contractor agreement

Exact rates, working hours, engagement length and requirements vary by client opportunity and will be confirmed before you accept an engagement.
