Senior / Staff Python Engineer

About the Role

We're looking for a Senior / Staff Python Engineer to join a rapidly growing SaaS company that is building next-generation, AI-driven platforms. In this role, you'll combine hands-on coding with technical leadership, mentoring other engineers and shaping the direction of complex, highly scalable systems.

You'll work cross-functionally with Product, Design, and DevOps teams to deliver secure, reliable, and performant features while fostering a culture of innovation and engineering excellence.

What You'll Do

• Design and develop high-performance, scalable applications across Backend using Python
• Foster technical growth and continuous learning.
• Define and implement system architecture to ensure long-term scalability and maintainability.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks across applications and infrastructure.
• Champion best practices in testing, security, and deployment processes.
• Partner closely with Product and DevOps in Agile development cycles to deliver impactful features.
• Lead efforts to improve CI/CD pipelines and automation for faster, more reliable releases.
• Maintain clear technical documentation to support long-term stability and scalability.

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of software development experience
• Strong expertise in Python and modern frameworks (Flask, FastAPI, Django, etc.).
• Hands-on experience with cloud environments such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Familiarity with messaging and asynchronous systems such as RabbitMQ, Kafka, or similar.
• Strong knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL or similar).
• Proficiency with Docker, Kubernetes, and Git.
• Experience implementing testing frameworks, code coverage, and quality standards.
• Comfortable working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Bonus: Experience with workflow orchestration tools or observability stacks.

Compensation & Perks

• Competitive salary: $170,000 - $200,000, plus potential equity.
