Reach www.reach.security integrates with your existing security tools to identify blind spots across your defenses, prioritize fixes, automatically remediate misconfigurations, and continuously validate that your security posture remains strong About the Role: We are seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer to drive the development of various critical backend systems to support product engineering, with a focus on integrations and positioning Reach within a larger software ecosystem. You will tackle challenges across multiple domains, such as large-scale data retrieval and processing, management of sensitive customer data such as credentials, and system design that support complex interconnected systems. Candidates with a strong foundation in Python, Authz and Authn, data structures, system design, and technical leadership experience will find this role both challenging and rewarding. As an early team member, you will have the opportunity to take ownership of various aspects of our backend from day one. Your role will be pivotal in guiding and mentoring your fellow team members, establishing engineering best practices, balancing engineering priorities with business needs, and identifying innovative approaches to deliver outstanding value to our users. In this role, you will: Manage and develop an ecosystem of integrations, connecting to multiple external providers to ingest large amounts of data. Execute complex backend software engineering projects focusing on APIs, data processing, infrastructure and platform. Drive the execution of key engineering initiatives while fostering a culture of technical excellence. Author technical proposals to document and align teams on the design of complex projects. Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, minimizing downtime and impact on business operations. Success in this role requires: 8+ years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on backend, platform or system programming. Strong experience with Python and its ecosystem. Proficiency in distributed system design and large-scale data architecture. Proficiency in Authorization and Authentication patterns, and secure management of sensitive data. Keen sense for identifying business needs and can communicate a clear vision for implementing solutions. Strong communication skills, capable of explaining technical issues to non-technical audiences. Experience designing and building multi-tenant SaaS platforms that ensure data isolation, scalability, and robust security. Ways to stand out: Experience with third party data ingestion/integrations (Inbound and outbound) Experience with batch or streaming data pipelines. Experience with cloud service providers in a production setting (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.).
