Overview: The Senior Steel Detailer will be responsible for leading the creation of detailed drawings, models, and specifications for complex steel fabrication projects. This senior-level position requires extensive experience in steel detailing and strong leadership abilities. The role involves managing a team of detailers, coordinating with engineers and project managers, and ensuring that all detailing work meets design specifications, safety standards, and client requirements. Key Responsibilities: Design and Detailing: Lead the creation of detailed drawings, models, and specifications according to project requirements. Utilize CAD software, specifically Tekla, to produce accurate and high-quality drawings and models. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations in all design outputs. Project Oversight: Oversee the detailing process for complex projects, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and quality. Review and approve detailed drawings, models, and documentation to ensure compliance with design specifications and industry standards. Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and construction teams to ensure detailing work meets project requirements and deadlines. Quality Assurance and Control: Establish and enforce rigorous quality control procedures and standards for all detailing activities. Conduct regular audits and reviews of detailing work to identify and address any issues or deficiencies. Implement corrective actions and follow-up measures to ensure the highest quality standards are maintained. Team Leadership and Mentoring: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of detailers, providing guidance and support for professional development. Conduct regular performance evaluations, set goals, and provide constructive feedback to team members. Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment, encouraging knowledge sharing and continuous improvement. Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with engineers and project managers to understand design concepts and requirements. Facilitate regular meetings to discuss detailing progress, issues, and resolutions. Communicate effectively with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to address design issues and provide technical guidance. Professional Development: Stay updated on the latest advancements in steel detailing, materials, and construction techniques. Qualifications Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Structural Engineering, Architecture, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in steel detailing or a related role. Familiarity with Tekla software is required. Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate drawings and models. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Ability to work effectively in a team environment. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
