About Us

We are a construction-focused organization committed to delivering complex projects through disciplined financial management, strategic risk oversight, operational resilience, and collaborative project execution. Our multidisciplinary teams work across Project Management, Construction, Engineering, Procurement, Commercial, Legal, Finance, Human Resources, Design, Quality, HSE, Consultants, Contractors, Suppliers, Logistics, Administration, Information Technology, and Executive Leadership to strengthen governance, assess potential risks, and support sustainable business performance.

We recognize the importance of forward-looking risk assessment, scenario analysis, and financial resilience in navigating market uncertainty and changing business conditions. Through robust stress testing, data-driven analysis, and effective risk controls, we aim to identify vulnerabilities, evaluate potential losses, strengthen contingency planning, and support informed management decisions.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Stress Testing Specialist to design, develop, execute, and enhance stress testing frameworks across relevant financial, operational, liquidity, credit, market, and business risk areas. The successful candidate will assess the potential impact of adverse economic conditions, financial market movements, funding disruptions, project cost overruns, counterparty defaults, and other severe but plausible events on the organization's financial position and operational resilience.

The role will collaborate with Risk Management, Finance, Treasury, Commercial, Procurement, Project Management, Compliance, and senior leadership to develop meaningful stress scenarios, validate analytical methodologies, interpret results, and recommend appropriate risk mitigation measures. The ideal candidate will possess strong quantitative skills, financial modeling expertise, scenario design capabilities, and an understanding of relevant United Arab Emirates regulatory expectations where applicable.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance the organization's stress testing framework, policies, methodologies, procedures, and governance arrangements.
  • Design comprehensive stress testing programs covering relevant financial, credit, market, liquidity, operational, and business risks.
  • Develop stress scenarios that reflect institution-specific vulnerabilities, market-wide disruptions, and combined adverse conditions.
  • Assess the potential impact of macroeconomic deterioration, interest rate changes, foreign exchange volatility, inflation, commodity price movements, and economic downturns.
  • Design sensitivity analyses to evaluate the effects of changes in key assumptions, risk drivers, financial variables, and business conditions.
  • Conduct scenario analysis to assess the potential consequences of severe but plausible events on financial performance and organizational resilience.
  • Develop and maintain baseline, adverse, and severe stress scenarios using approved methodologies and documented assumptions.
  • Identify material risk exposures and determine appropriate stress testing coverage across business units, portfolios, counterparties, and operational activities.
  • Evaluate the impact of adverse scenarios on revenue, profitability, cash flow, working capital, capital resources, funding requirements, and overall financial stability.
  • Perform liquidity stress testing to assess the organization's ability to meet financial obligations under stressed funding and cash flow conditions.
  • Analyze potential liquidity pressures arising from deposit withdrawals, delayed customer receipts, reduced funding access, collateral calls, and unexpected cash requirements where relevant.
  • Assess the impact of credit stress scenarios on borrower performance, counterparty exposures, probability of default, loss given default, and expected credit losses.
  • Evaluate the potential effects of market risk shocks on investment portfolios, foreign exchange exposures, interest rate positions, commodity-linked costs, and other relevant financial instruments.
  • Support capital stress testing by assessing the impact of adverse conditions on capital adequacy, capital consumption, and financial resource requirements where applicable.
  • Analyze operational risk scenarios involving system failures, cyber incidents, fraud, supply chain disruptions, project delays, and other material business interruptions.
  • Assess construction-related risk scenarios, including significant cost overruns, contractor failures, procurement delays, supply shortages, project suspension, and changes in customer demand.
  • Evaluate the impact of delayed project milestones, contractual disputes, payment delays, and unexpected project expenditure on cash flow and financial performance.
  • Conduct reverse stress testing to identify scenarios that could threaten financial viability, breach critical risk limits, or materially disrupt business operations.
  • Determine key risk indicators, stress drivers, scenario severity levels, and appropriate modeling assumptions for each stress testing exercise.
  • Collect, validate, and reconcile data from Finance, Treasury, Risk Management, Commercial, Procurement, Project Management, and other relevant functions.
  • Ensure stress testing inputs are complete, consistent, traceable, and appropriate for the intended analytical purpose.
  • Investigate data quality issues, inconsistent assumptions, missing information, and unexplained variations that could affect stress testing outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain quantitative models, analytical tools, spreadsheets, and reporting solutions used in stress testing.
  • Apply appropriate statistical, financial, and quantitative techniques to estimate potential impacts under different scenarios.
  • Document model assumptions, data sources, limitations, calculation methods, and material judgments.
  • Perform model validation, sensitivity checks, back-testing where appropriate, and independent reasonableness assessments.
  • Monitor model performance and identify weaknesses that may affect the reliability or interpretation of stress testing results.
  • Support the review and enhancement of stress testing methodologies in response to changing risk exposures, business conditions, and regulatory expectations.
  • Compare stress testing results against risk appetite, internal limits, financial forecasts, liquidity thresholds, and other relevant control parameters.
  • Identify vulnerabilities, concentration risks, interconnected exposures, and potential transmission channels across risk categories.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of existing risk mitigation strategies under stressed conditions.
  • Recommend corrective actions, contingency measures, and risk reduction strategies based on stress testing outcomes.
  • Support the development and review of contingency funding plans, business continuity arrangements, recovery planning, and other resilience measures.
  • Assess the adequacy of available financial resources and contingency arrangements under adverse scenarios.
  • Coordinate with Treasury and Finance to evaluate alternative funding options and liquidity management responses during periods of stress.
  • Work with Commercial and Procurement teams to assess the financial consequences of supplier disruption, contractor insolvency, cost escalation, and adverse contractual developments.
  • Collaborate with Project Management and Engineering teams to understand project-specific risk exposures and incorporate material risks into relevant scenarios.
  • Evaluate potential interactions between financial risks and operational risks, including how project delays or supply chain disruptions may affect cash flow and funding requirements.
  • Prepare stress testing reports, dashboards, analytical summaries, and management presentations for senior leadership and relevant governance committees.
  • Explain key assumptions, scenario outcomes, sensitivities, limitations, and risk implications in clear, decision-oriented language.
  • Present significant findings, emerging vulnerabilities, and recommended actions to Risk Management, Finance, Treasury, and other stakeholders.
  • Establish reporting schedules and ensure stress testing exercises are completed within approved timelines.
  • Maintain complete documentation of scenario design, model versions, input data, calculation results, reviews, approvals, and remediation actions.
  • Support internal and external audits, regulatory examinations, and independent reviews of stress testing practices.
  • Assist with regulatory stress testing submissions and supporting documentation in accordance with applicable requirements.
  • Maintain awareness of relevant UAE Central Bank requirements and other applicable regulatory expectations concerning stress testing and risk management, where relevant to the organization's activities.
  • Translate relevant regulatory developments into practical enhancements to stress testing governance, methodologies, reporting, and controls.
  • Coordinate with Compliance and Risk Management to ensure stress testing processes remain consistent with applicable policies and regulatory obligations.
  • Support the integration of stress testing results into risk appetite assessments, strategic planning, financial forecasting, and business decision-making.
  • Contribute analytical insights to annual planning, budgeting, capital planning, liquidity planning, and business resilience assessments.
  • Conduct ad hoc scenario analysis in response to emerging economic developments, market volatility, operational incidents, or significant business decisions.
  • Monitor external economic indicators, market developments, industry trends, and emerging risks that may warrant new or revised stress scenarios.
  • Identify opportunities to automate data collection, scenario calculations, model validation, and recurring reporting activities.
