The role will provide senior technical leadership for CBI’s work to advance transition and resilience finance in Japan, through engaging in strategic workstreams on Japanese policy and market developments.
Please note this is a fixed term position for an initial period of 6 months.

How you'll contribute
- Develop CBI technical positions, policy recommendations and strategic advice on transition and resilience finance in Japan.
- Provide advisory into key workstreams in Japan, including Green List alignment, GX Bond alignment with CBI standards, and expansion of subnational bond issuance.
- Engage in senior stakeholder discussions, working groups and consultations, and support strategic engagement with government, financial institutions and other key stakeholders.
- Identify emerging opportunities for Japan’s sustainable finance market and advise the Japan Team on priorities for CBI engagement and market development.

- Fluency in written and spoken Japanese and English
- Master’s degree in relevant fields
- Professional experience in providing policy advisory on climate transition and resilience finance.
- Strong knowledge of Japan’s climate and financial-sector policy landscape.
- Experience analysing financial frameworks, policies or standards and translating technical issues into practical recommendations.
- Experience engaging with government institutions, financial-sector stakeholders or other senior stakeholders.
- Strong analytical, writing and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively across Japan-based and international teams.
