Role Description This is a full-time remote role for a Senior System Administrator at SAT Microsystems. The Senior System Administrator will oversee and maintain servers, networks, and core infrastructure systems to ensure high availability, performance, and security. Daily tasks include monitoring system health, applying patches and updates, managing backups and disaster recovery procedures, and optimizing configurations in line with best practices. The role involves diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues, providing advanced technical support to internal teams and clients, and collaborating with other IT specialists on infrastructure projects and improvements. The Senior System Administrator will also contribute to documentation, implement security controls, and support the rollout of new technologies and automation initiatives.

Role Summary

We are looking for an experienced L2/L3 Infrastructure & Cloud Engineer with strong hands-on expertise across Microsoft 365, Infrastructure Security, VMware, Disaster Recovery and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).

The resource will be responsible for advanced infrastructure support, troubleshooting, administration, incident resolution, RCA, security operations and implementation support across enterprise environments. The candidate should be capable of independently handling complex technical issues and acting as an escalation point for L1/L2 teams.

Current enterprise L2/L3 roles commonly combine M365 administration, Entra/Intune/security, virtualization, cloud infrastructure and advanced incident/RCA responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Strong system administration skills covering server management, operating systems, and virtualization platforms.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting and technical support to identify, analyze, and resolve complex infrastructure issues.
• Experience with network administration, including routing, switching, firewalls, and VPNs.
• Solid background in information technology fundamentals, including security, backup, and recovery practices.
• Hands-on experience with cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure), automation tools, and monitoring platforms is beneficial.
• Familiarity with cyber security principles and best practices, especially in enterprise environments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently in a remote setting and collaborate across distributed teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for clear documentation and stakeholder interaction.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Relevant professional certifications (e.g., Microsoft, Linux, Cisco, VMware, cloud or security certifications) are an advantage.
