Senior System & Network Engineer
Looking for a place where your work genuinely matters?
At CloudFerro, we build technology used every day by some of Europe’s leading organisations in science and the space sector, including ESA, EUMETSAT, ECMWF, Mercator Ocean International, DLR and EGI.
By working close to the Earth Observation ecosystem, you can contribute to systems that support research, climate analysis and a better understanding of our planet.
If you enjoy modern infrastructure, large-scale environments and solving complex technical problems — while having real ownership and room to grow — we’d love to hear from you.
What you’ll be working on
- Designing, deploying and maintaining physical network infrastructure, with a strong focus on Juniper, NVIDIA/Mellanox and other networking platforms.
- Configuring and administering Linux-based systems, including VyOS and OPNsense.
- Automating operational and administrative tasks using Ansible and Python.
- Troubleshooting network and performance issues across complex environments.
- Handling incidents and technical issues as part of second-line support.
What we’re looking for
- Hands-on experience with Junos, NVIDIA Cumulus Linux, VyOS or similar Network Operating Systems.
- A solid understanding of the TCP/IP networking stack.
- Good knowledge of routing protocols, particularly BGP and OSPF.
- Strong Linux skills, especially in the area of networking.
- Familiarity with DNS technologies, particularly BIND and/or PowerDNS.
- Confidence communicating in English, both spoken and written.
Nice to have
- Experience with EVPN/VXLAN, particularly in NVIDIA Cumulus Linux and/or SONiC environments.
- Knowledge of network security, including firewalls, VPNs, access control and network segmentation.
- Understanding of networking in OpenStack and/or Kubernetes environments.
- Familiarity with networking hardware vendors and the ability to evaluate and select appropriate technical solutions.
- Experience with SONiC or other Network Operating Systems.
Why join CloudFerro?
- You’ll work on projects supporting the European space industry, climate research and scientific organisations.
- We work in a hybrid model and offer flexibility around working hours.
- We value open technical discussion, knowledge sharing and learning from one another.
- You’ll have a high degree of autonomy in how you organise your work.
- Your input will have a real impact on both technical and business decisions.
- You’ll work alongside highly experienced engineers and specialists who are always willing to share their knowledge and support each other.
- We offer competitive compensation and stable forms of employment.
- You’ll also receive a benefits package including private medical care, Multisport, life insurance and language courses.
