Compensation Range

About This Job

The main purpose of this job is to serve as a senior business unit and systems resource, providing expert support and coverage for the systems and processes the line of business relies on each day. This position contributes to the management of internal and external audits; leads system enhancements, testing, and production issue resolution. The associate drives process improvements and compliance readiness and collaborates with management and other business units on projects and special initiatives.

Work Schedule

• Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Flexible within this time range)

Essential Functions

• Partner with Internal Audit, external auditors, and business lines to support audit and examination responses (including SOC1, SOX, and Fed/State examinations) and address findings affecting systems and processes to maintain compliance with audit standards
• Support business resumption and disaster recovery requirements for the line of business systems and processes, working with Business Continuity, and complete third-party risk assessments and annual business continuity plan updates
• Display subject matter expert knowledge of multiple systems supported
• Provide support, consultation, and recommendations to business teams in resolving complex technical problems and implement technical solutions for business needs
• Research, analyze, and assist with the design, testing, and implementation of applications and system upgrades, sometimes working in cooperation with internal departments and vendors
• Handle production issues, including troubleshooting, testing fixes, and determining workarounds
• Review, analyze, and evaluate business systems and user needs.
• Document business and systems requirements, define scope and objectives, translate requirements into specifications, and formulate systems to reflect business unit strategies.
• Identify and implement process improvements, complex system enhancements, and compliance requirements; identify opportunities for innovation and work to implement them
• Manage small to medium sized projects that include implementation of software, mergers, acquisitions, as well as other initiatives
• Assist the line of business management team with the implementation of new system enhancements and other special projects as assigned
• Assist with systems projects for departments within the division as requested
• Mentor and coach others in the department, including team members and management
• Perform other duties as assigned
  

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve complex problems and make decisions
• Ability to think strategically with a growth mindset and look for ways to streamline processes for efficiency
• Strong computer skills, specifically with SQL, SharePoint, Excel, and Business Objects, including in-depth knowledge of creating reports in Business Objects
• Strong relationship building skills to work effectively with a variety of individuals at all levels throughout the Bank, including the ability to collaborate and demonstrate political savvy in working with management
• Ability to coach team members as well as management
• Motivated and organized self-starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Inquisitive, agile, and strong team player with excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to remain adaptable and resilient to all situations with an optimistic outlook and cast a positive shadow that is aligned with our culture and Core Values
• Experience in multiple operational disciplines within the line of business
• Advanced level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook
• Intermediate knowledge of banking industry and bank operations, including best practices and regulations

Education & Experience

• Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
• 5+ years experience developing systems and performing reporting and analysis required.
• 2+ years Trust Operations related experience required.
• Experience of business resumption planning preferred

**Hybrid Schedule: minimum of 2 days/week onsite (training will require up to 5 days per week in office for up to 8 weeks, depending on progress and business need)

At Commerce, compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each situation. A reasonable estimate of the current base pay is $26.70 to $31.50 per hour.
