The best engineers rarely come through inbound applications. They come through relationships, nurtured networks, and they are attracted to exciting opportunities and teams with strong reputations and tons of potential.

Plasmidsaurus has built an exceptional engineering team through referrals, relationships, and highly selective hiring. There’s a ton to build here, and we're looking for a technically-oriented talent partner to help turn our unqiue advantages as a company and engineering team into a durable talent engine.

What You'll Do

In this role, you'll identify outstanding talent for our engineering team, build relationships that don’t hinge on a single req, and you’ll ensure Plasmidsaurus is known by the engineers we most want to hire. You'll partner closely our VP of Engineering to understand what great looks like for Plasmidsaurus, map the talent landscape, and create networks that compound over time.

Success isn't measured by outreach volume or pipeline size. It's measured by whether we know the most talented engineers, whether they take our call when the time is right, and whether those relationships become the foundation of future hires.

Find Excellent Talent We Don't Already Know

Partner with the VP of Engineering to understand what exceptional looks like and find people we would never meet through inbound applications, traditional recruiting channels, or existing networks.

Map the companies, teams, and communities producing exceptional engineers and build targeted strategies to reach them.

Expand Our Talent Network

Continuously grow Plasmidsaurus' reach into engineering communities, open source ecosystems, startup networks, and other places exceptional builders spend time.

Help make sure Plasmidsaurus is well known by the people we'd most want to hire, establish and share a strong value proposition for joining the team.

Build Relationships Before We Need Them

Develop relationships across a network of technical talent long before a specific role exists.

Stay connected through conversations, introductions, referrals, events, and communities so that when hiring needs emerge, we're building activating via relationships rather than starting from scratch.

Create Talent Advantages That Compound

Build systems, workflows, talent maps, and sourcing approaches that become more valuable over time.

Use automation, AI, and creative research methods to increase leverage, improve outcomes, and strengthen our understanding of the market.

Other Information

Speed and Scope: We expect this person will be a strong partner in hiring and building an increasingly impressive engineering team. We’re moving fast and we know that this job description won’t cover all the contributions you’ll make towards our growing team. This role will start out as a strategist focused on sourcing day one, given that our Engineering team needs less support with interviewing and offer processes, and more around our talent and sourcing strategy. We will look to this person as their strategic partner and expect you to grow naturally into increased partnership and full cycle support.

Reporting and Location: This position reports to our Head of Talent (remote) and work most closely with our Head of Engineering (in SF) and the Engineering team each day. It is a hybrid position, in-office in our South San Francisco headquarters Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
