We are supporting an established international financial services group with a Senior Tax Analyst position to join its Tax Reporting function in Malta.

The role sits within a multinational environment and covers a broad range of tax matters, including corporate and indirect tax compliance, international taxation, transfer pricing and tax reporting.

This would suit a tax professional with solid technical foundations who is looking to take on broader responsibilities and gain exposure to international operations, strategic tax projects and senior stakeholders.

Location: Hybrid – Malta

Note: This is an urgent need and candidate to be expected onboard as soon as possible, at least before end Q4.

Responsibilities:

You will support the Group’s tax function across day-to-day compliance and reporting activities, while also contributing to wider tax projects and initiatives across the organisation.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting corporate direct tax and indirect tax compliance, including VAT and withholding tax matters, across Group entities.

  • Assisting with tax provisioning, reporting processes and the preparation and submission of required tax documentation.

  • Supporting the preparation of Qualified Intermediary (QI) submissions for the US Internal Revenue Service.

  • Analysing tax implications arising from international operations and providing input to business and strategic decisions.

  • Working with internal Finance teams, external tax advisors and relevant authorities to resolve tax matters and maintain effective compliance processes.

  • Assisting with the preparation and maintenance of transfer pricing documentation.

  • Contributing to tax optimisation initiatives, process improvements and broader strategic tax projects.

  • Supporting internal and external audits by preparing relevant tax documentation, identifying potential tax risks and helping implement practical solutions.

  • Keeping tax reporting and compliance processes accurate, controlled and up to date.

Requirements:

  • A professional accounting qualification or recognised tax qualification/diploma.

  • At least 3 years of relevant professional experience in taxation.

  • Practical experience with Maltese tax matters.

  • Strong understanding of corporate and international tax principles.

  • Exposure to areas such as corporate tax compliance, transfer pricing, cross-border taxation or tax reporting within a multinational environment.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical tax matters clearly to both finance professionals and non-tax stakeholders.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent attention to detail and a structured, control-oriented approach.

  • High standards of integrity and professional ethics.

  • Ability to work effectively with internal stakeholders, external advisors and multidisciplinary teams.

What’s in it for you?

  • A senior-level opportunity within an established international financial services group.

  • Hybrid working in Malta.

  • Broad exposure to Maltese, international and cross-border tax matters.

  • Involvement in both ongoing compliance and strategic tax initiatives.

  • Collaboration with Finance, external advisors and other senior stakeholders.

  • The opportunity to develop further within a growing multinational organisation.
