Senior Tax Associate US CPA Firm | Remote from South Africa A growing international professional services team is seeking an experienced Senior Tax Associate based in South Africa to support tax engagements for a well-established US accounting and advisory firm. This role provides the opportunity to work on US tax engagements across a diverse client portfolio including nonprofit organisations, government contractors, private companies, and high-net-worth individuals . The firm has a particularly strong focus on nonprofit tax compliance , making this an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to specialised US tax work. You will collaborate closely with US-based managers and engagement teams while building international experience as part of a global professional services environment. Key Responsibilities Prepare US tax returns including: Nonprofit tax returns (Form 990) Corporate tax returns (Form 1120 / 1120S) Partnership returns (Form 1065) Individual tax returns (Form 1040) Assist with multi-state tax filings and compliance requirements Conduct tax research and assist with tax advisory work Prepare supporting schedules and tax working papers Review work prepared by junior team members where required Work closely with US-based managers and engagement teams Assist with responses to IRS or state tax authority queries Ensure tax documentation is prepared to a high professional standard Requirements Bachelors degree in Accounting, Tax, or Finance 3–6 years tax experience in a public accounting or professional services firm Experience preparing corporate, partnership, or individual tax returns Strong understanding of tax compliance and reporting processes Experience working with multiple client engagements simultaneously Strong analytical and Excel skills Experience with tax software such as CCH Axcess, GoSystem, ProSeries, QuickBooks, or CaseWare preferred Professional qualification such as CA(SA), ACCA, or CPA advantageous but not essential Why This Opportunity Work with an established US accounting and advisory firm Gain exposure to international tax frameworks and complex client portfolios Collaborate with experienced global tax professionals Build international experience while remaining based in South Africa Be part of a high-performing professional services team delivering work at global standards If you are an experienced tax professional looking to expand your international exposure while working remotely from South Africa, we would love to hear from you.
