The company
Our client is a global B2B software company helping organisations simplify complex operational workflows through data, automation and AI. The business is expanding across Asia-Pacific and is looking for a Senior Technical Product Manager to help adapt and grow its product offering in the region.
The role
As the first product hire in Australia, you’ll shape how an established platform evolves for customers across APAC. You’ll combine technical product management with customer discovery, working closely with engineering, delivery and commercial teams to understand local requirements and turn them into clear product priorities.
The product supports complex logistics and compliance workflows, connecting information across systems and reducing manual work. Your focus will be on finding the right problems to solve, testing assumptions and building products that customers adopt—not simply managing a backlog.
You’ll stay close to customers while partnering with the delivery team on implementation. When customer requirements call for deeper changes to the product, you’ll help define the right approach and feed those insights into the broader roadmap.
What you’ll do
- Shape the product direction and roadmap for expansion into APAC, balancing regional requirements with the broader platform strategy.
- Lead discovery with customers and end users to understand their workflows, constraints and unmet needs.
- Turn complex operational problems into clear requirements, priorities and success measures.
- Work closely with engineers on APIs, data flows and integrations with existing customer systems.
- Test ideas through prototypes, design partnerships and pilots, using AI tools where useful.
- Partner with delivery and customer-facing teams to identify product gaps and support adoption.
- Define and track outcomes such as reduced manual effort, faster processing, improved accuracy and increased usage.
- Iterate on product-market fit, using customer feedback and evidence to refine what gets built.
- Some international and interstate travels will be required
What you’ll bring
- At least five years of product management experience, including shipping B2B software that customers rely on.
- Strong technical product skills, ideally across data-intensive, API-driven or enterprise workflow products.
- Confidence discussing APIs, integration architecture, JSON and data pipelines with engineers and customer IT teams.
- Experience taking products through discovery, launch and iteration, with examples of how you improved product-market fit.
- An ability to simplify complex workflows and make considered trade-offs between customer needs, usability and technical constraints.
- Clear, direct communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Curiosity, initiative and the ability to work independently when requirements are still evolving.
Experience in logistics, customs, compliance or adjacent enterprise software would be valuable. Strong technical product judgement and the ability to learn a complex domain matter more than deep industry expertise.
Experience with AI-enabled products, customer-led pilots or products serving multiple stakeholder groups would also be useful.
The offer
- Be the first product person on the ground in Australia, with meaningful influence over regional product direction.
- Work on substantive technical problems involving data, integrations and AI.
- Help an established product find its fit in new markets.
- Join a global team while working remotely within Australia, with travel for customer and team collaboration.
